Rose Cottage is highly praised for its tranquil woodland setting, abundant wildlife, and spacious garden, making it ideal for those seeking a peaceful retreat. Guests appreciate the cosy, well-equipped cottage, friendly owner, and proximity to scenic walks and beaches. The property is dog-friendly and offers a charming summer house. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, a few mention minor issues with bed comfort, road safety, and occasional confusion over amenities. Overall, guests enjoy a relaxing and memorable stay in this beautiful part of Scotland.
Cleanliness is consistently highlighted, with multiple guests describing the cottage as spotless, very clean, and well-maintained. Only one review mentioned leaving early due to discomfort, but this was related to the bed rather than cleanliness.
The location is frequently described as peaceful, secluded, and surrounded by nature, with easy access to walks, beaches, and local attractions. A few guests noted minor concerns about speeding vehicles on the nearby road, but this did not detract significantly from the overall experience.
Most guests found the cottage cosy, warm, and comfortable, with particular praise for the log burner and central heating. However, a small number of reviews mentioned issues with mattress comfort and seating, which slightly lowered the score.
The cottage is described as well-equipped, with a modern kitchen, log burner, summer house, and ample amenities. Some guests noted the lack of WiFi or phone signal (though others found signal), and a few mentioned the coin-operated electricity meter, but overall satisfaction with facilities is high.
Many guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as wine, biscuits, cakes, and festive decorations from the owner. It should be noted that these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, but the owner's welcoming and helpful attitude is frequently mentioned.

The cottage had everything we needed. Great walks from the cottage and also within short driving distance from some great places to visit. It was great meeting the owner caroline. Thank you for letting us use your lovely cottage.

There is everything you need to have the perfect getaway. The cottage is so cosy and facilities excellent. Bonnie loved having the garden to roam freely around. Plenty of places to visit just a short drive away. (We just enjoyed the peace and tranquility). Weather didn't allow us to make use of the delightful summer house - but we will be back.

Second time we've visited and didn't disappoint. Nice touches with the wine and cheese gifts too for the new year! The host is friendly and easy to contact if you need anything at all, but happy to leave you to your holiday. Only reason I've added a lower score for the listing accuracy (not the cottage) was it says towels aren't provided but they were and it says there is no phone signal but there is, along with 4G.
