Rose Cottage receives praise for its cleanliness, wildlife-rich location, and thoughtful touches like wine and biscuits. While most guests enjoyed a comfortable stay, some noted issues with maintenance and comfort, particularly with the beds and heating. The property's tranquillity and proximity to nature are highlights, with many guests planning return visits.
The majority of guests found Rose Cottage to be immaculately clean, contributing to a comfortable and welcoming stay. One review mentioned a 'weird smell', but this seems to be an isolated incident.
The cottage's location is frequently commended for its peacefulness, proximity to wildlife, and access to local attractions. However, concerns about road safety and mobile signal availability slightly affect the score.
Comfort at Rose Cottage is generally well-regarded, especially the warmth of the property and the garden's summer house. Some guests, however, reported issues with cold bedrooms, hard beds, and inadequate lighting for reading.
Facilities at the cottage are appreciated, but several reviews cite problems with maintenance, such as sharp knives, pan lid handles, and a problematic washing machine. The lack of broadband and issues with the log burner's heat distribution also affect the score.
Guests often mention the thoughtful gestures of wine and biscuits, which add to the welcoming atmosphere. It should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Second time we've visited and didn't disappoint. Nice touches with the wine and cheese gifts too for the new year! The host is friendly and easy to contact if you need anything at all, but happy to leave you to your holiday. Only reason I've added a lower score for the listing accuracy (not the cottage) was it says towels aren't provided but they were and it says there is no phone signal but there is, along with 4G.
Brian
Very thoughtful owner who was more than willing to help in any way. We will definitely return again.

THE COTTAGE WAS SPOT ON WITH EVERYTHING WE NEEDED. QUIET, REMOTE FEEL BUT ONLT 10 MINS FROM TONS OF BEACHES. WE SAW RED DEER, RED SQUIRRELS, BUZZARDS,WOODPECKER IN FIELD NEAR GARDEN. RED+ROE DEER ON THE WALK TO THE BEACH + LEAPING TROUT AT LADYBAY. THE WEATHER WAS PERFECT, IT WAS HARD TO BELIEVE WE WAS IN SCOTLAND. WE REALLY APPRECIATED THE EXTRAS FROM CAROLINE & HAVE ALREADY BOOKED TO RETURN NEXT YEAR.
