From a historical perspective, during the Second World War, Wig Bay was used as a base for the flying Catalina boats, evidence can be seen of this on a walk along the bay.

The Lodge is very spacious and beautifully decorated. Amenities are pristine. It is a joy to inhabit and call a home base for many travels. The surrounding garden is vast for dog to play, all enclosed and safe. The view is breathtaking, heightened by the open tall living space windows and dining area. The neighbouring cows visit and are a joy to see. The location is remote enough for complete autonomy and free of distraction. Perfect for a holiday escape. Robert is a wonderful host and very approachable. His business nearby is not a distraction whatsoever. I would put this at the top of any list.. Missing it already.
