Let your holiday begin at the beautiful Ben ma Cree, a stunning cottage in an idyllic coastal location with the most spectacular sea views in Portpatrick, probably one of the most fantastic locations in Dumfries and Galloway. Ben ma Cree sits in an elevated position overlooking the pretty little harbour town of Portpatrick. It dates back several centuries and is steeped in history, having once been in use as the toll house regulating the passage of traffic from the harbour.

Your stay at Ben ma Cree is made all the more perfect with meticulous attention to detail throughout from the modern, well equipped kitchen, stunning beds and the icing on the cake is the upstairs sitting room with a balcony taking in those stunning views over the fishing harbour and across the sea to Ireland.

Take a stroll down to the harbour and watch the boats coming in, or for the more adventurous, the dramatic cliff top walk is a must after which you can enjoy a superb meal and a glass of wine in the Mount Stewart Hotel, a beautiful boutique Hotel overlooking the water, where you can take advantage of a 10% discount privilege card while staying at Ben Ma Cree.

Great stay! Amazing views. Even in low cold temperatures the hot tub was just a joy. Host friendly. Picking key up from hotel was easy, lovely little town, easy acces driving there and just a nice place to stay in with friends

had to collect the key from a hotel which was a small drive away which I didnt know before hand.

The cottage was in a great location and was suitable for our weekend. However a few things require fixing. The door handle on the patio doors in the kitchen area has not been fixed yet or the broken spindle on the balcony despite these being reported on the two reviews dated November 2024 by two separate people. The house itself could be doing with a full makeover as it is very tired inside. Also could do with more seating upstairs. The hot tub is not very private as you have an open public path right next to it. The table and chairs outside on the patio could be doing with a spruce up. Apart from the above we as a group of 6 ladies would probably book again and hopefully all of the above mentioned would be taken care of.
