Hammy’s Cottage is delightfully decorated throughout, boasting lovely furnishings and décor. The spacious living room, with its cosy wood burning stove, is perfect for those chillier evenings, but is also a delight in the summer, as the door opens directly onto a very sunny and private courtyard. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other a twin room with pull out bed for additional sleeping.Hammy’s Cottage is a short stroll from the beach and stunning views across Luce Bay, where you can enjoy a lazy day doing nothing!
The area surrounding Drummore, the Rhins of Galloway, boasts idyllic scenery and amazing seascapes, rugged coastlines and secluded sandy beaches which benefit from the warmth of the passing Gulf Stream. There are many beautiful gardens to explore, including the world renowned Logan Botanical Gardens. The area boasts many other pretty little ports like Sandhead, Portpatrick. A trip not to be missed is a visit to rspb Scotland Mull of Galloway nature reserve, where thousands of seabirds nest in the cliff face during the spring and summer. Harbour porpoises, dolphins, seals, otters and minke whales can also be spotted. The area is ideal for walkers with a number of spectacular coastal and clifftop paths to explore and for the more adventurous the world renowned 7stanes mountain bike trails are close by. Pub 1 mile, beach 100 yards.

Following a week at Hammy's cottage, there were both positives and negatives. The negatives could be corrected quite easily with a deep clean, some fresh paint and downstairs hard flooring. We found the bed comfortable and clean, pristine white towels and well equipped kitchen/lounge. Take a haidryer. The nautical theme was lovely. The position of the cottage great. The negatives, firstly the back yard walls need painting its not an inviting space to sit. The carpet tiles need removed as they cause an unpleasant smell as you walk either in from the front door/coming down from upstairs. The TV channels and wifi were excellent. Lots of cupboard space.

Arrived to a welcome pack in a very clean property, tastefully & thoughtfully furnished. Well-equipped throughout & comfortable. We stayed with our dog (note: there were no provisions for a dog such as spare bowls, towels). The only access to the property is straight onto a pavement on quite a busy road so care is required exiting. The village store/post office, eatery, pub, harbour & beaches are all just a short walk from the property. Hammy's Cottage & Drummore are a great base to explore the Mull of Galloway. With Stranraer just half hour drive it's easy to access more facilities.

The cottage was really lovely with everything you could need.You could tell that the owners really cared because the furnishings were lovely. We found when we went in there was a smell in the kitchen and although we couldn’t find anything we couldn’t get rid of it, I think the whole place could do with a deep clean.
