Situated overlooking the pretty harbour village of Portpatrick, Saffron is the nearest house to Dunskey Golf Club with its 18 and 9 hole courses. This luxuriously equipped house has spacious private gardens and sits in an elevated position, it boasts a stunning sea view and is only a short stroll from the seafront, with an old lighthouse, shops, post office, restaurants, pubs, and a small sandy beach. Other village facilities include: two tennis courts, a mini golf putting green, a children’s play area with swings and climbing frames.
Boasting a stunning coastline with sandy beaches, rugged beaches, rocky coves and windswept cliffs, the area is a cyclists and walker’s paradise. The Southern Upland Way starts in Portpatrick and offers everything from gentle walks to challenging hikes. There are many coastal villages to explore in the area. Wildlife is abundant with many unusual species including pine martens, golden eagle, ospreys, red deer, red squirrels and the natterjack toad. The rspb Mull of Galloway Visitor Centre with thousands of nesting birds on the cliffs is well worth a visit. Sea fishing from Portpatrick and both trout and salmon fishing are close by. Other country pursuits are available including shooting and riding. Beach ½ mile. Shop and pub ½ mile, restaurant 150 yards.

We had the most fantastic New Year's break!! The accommodation is VERY spacious and luxurious!! As a party of 7 we essentially all had our own private bathrooms!! Spectacularly clean and little treats left for us to enjoy you really couldn't help but feel welcomed when you arrive. The sea views from the kitchen and conservatory are absolutely stunning!! On a clear morning you can see the sunrise in all it's glory! Our dear friend happens to have a birthday on the 1st January so this was a very special break for us. Saffron was absolutely the perfect place to celebrate both events!!! The house cater taker was an integral part of our trip as she so took the time on our initial call to talk us through all what was in the house and what was happening locally. It led to almost 50% of our part taking party in the 'Looney Dook' on New Years Day (out friends birthday) the after party gave us the true Scottish Hogmanay experience we were hoping to have! If you plan to visit during this time and don't fancy the freezing cold dip in the sea, the small entry fee to the Village hall for the after party was well worth it!!I should also mention the lovely local walks & convenient local shops which seem to have just about anything! There are various supermarkets only about 20mins away!! 100% would recommend, just wish it was a little closer to where we live so we could visit more often!

A beautiful house in a lovely, peaceful location. Great views in a quiet village. Local shops for the essentials, plus cafes and a couple of pubs. We had such a relaxing week. Kim was really helpful and there was a lovely welcome pack for us and our dogs. Great secure garden but the wall is a little low in some places if you have big exploring dogs, but ours were fine. We had such a relaxing week.

A great holiday at Saffron Home. It's more than just a house. It's a home. And a very well appointed one, ideal for family gatherings or for a group of friends. The home has everything you need with all the amenities of Portpatrick and surrounding areas right on your doorstep. We were sorry to leave.
