Guests say

High Auchenbrack is a charming cottage praised for its serene location, ideal for guests with dogs and those seeking peace and quiet. The property offers a cosy atmosphere and an enclosed garden, with some guests expressing a fondness for its rustic character. While some reviews suggest the cottage could benefit from refurbishment and a more thorough cleaning, others appreciate the existing amenities and the prompt response to issues raised.

The cottage has received mixed feedback regarding cleanliness. Some guests found it to be tired and grubby in places, with mentions of mould and a lack of cleaning equipment. However, clean beds and fluffy towels were also noted.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity and beautiful setting, perfect for dog owners and those looking for a remote getaway with plenty of walking opportunities.

Guests have found the cottage to be cosy and comfortable overall, with a lovely garden and a fire for the evenings. However, some have mentioned that the property feels a bit tired and could use some TLC.

The facilities are adequate, with a well-equipped kitchen and cosy fire, but there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as non-working light bulbs, missing handles, and the absence of a vacuum cleaner.

While some guests appreciated the bathroom toiletries provided, there is no consistent mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate a level of thoughtfulness. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

The bedding, towels & toiltries are excellent quality & were very much appreciated. A couple of minor issues were resolved quickly by the owner. Thicker duvets or some blankets would have been appreciated & there was no hairdryer, which us unusual. That said, we hope to return & will recommend to others.
