Lovely location, great community and facilities including brilliant EV charging which isn't always true in the Highlands, beach, museum, great places to eat (love the MIlly Bar and its curries and the Badachro Inn), coffee shops, excellent butchers and the very helpful and friendly Shop at the Pier. Plenty of good walks and places to visit including Inverewe garden in easy reach. Very dog and people friendly. It was worth a very long journey from home to get there.

This cottage promises much, but there are a few things that are not mentioned in the ad, and some that are, but do not materialise.For starters, the prospective customer is not told that the cottage is adjacent to, and partly administered by, a large caravan park. This was not a huge issue, but something of a shock on arrival.We had a decent time - we love Gairloch, and would be relatively happy anywhere, but some little niggles got in the way of a perfect stay.1. The ad mentions a "welcome pack", which clearly wasn't there. Not a big deal, but if you're not going to provide it, don't mention it beforehand.2. The welcome emails suggest a key code will be sent but this is nonsense. No key codes were necessary or sent. It's also suggested that someone would be there to greet us. Again, false. 3. Stair gates were advertised but, again, no sign. Travelling with a very active and curious toddler, gates (or at least one) would have improved our peace of mind.4. Wifi. Yes it was available, just. It seems to be shared with the camp site, and is therefore badly overloaded. Frustrating, when you're trying to watch Internet TV (the satellite system in the cottage didn't work either), and you spend more time waiting than actually watching.5. The almost complete lack of any amusements indoors. We found one jigsaw, and one book. No local info or guest book, as would be found in almost every other cottage. The impression is of a bare bones operation, with little thought given to customer experience.Overall, acceptable, but underwhelming.

Great location. Well furnished, with lovely kitchen and plenty of kitchen equipment. Easy access to co op and coffee shop. Best thing was the view of the sea and the enclosed garden.
