The 'Bright and Beautiful' cottage in Ayr is generally praised for its well-equipped nature, welcoming touches, and secure garden, making it a hit with families and pet owners. Its proximity to the beach, shops, and local amenities adds to its charm. While most guests have had a pleasant stay, a few have raised concerns about cleanliness and maintenance issues.
Most guests found the cottage to be clean and well-presented, with some specifically mentioning its spotless condition. However, there were notable exceptions where guests reported issues with mould, dirty floors, and a lack of thorough cleaning in some areas, which impacts the overall cleanliness score.
The cottage's location is highly praised for being close to the beach, shops, and local attractions, with easy access to Ayr and surrounding areas. The quiet, safe neighbourhood and proximity to various amenities contribute to a high location score.
Guests have described the cottage as spacious, cosy, and comfortable, with a secure garden and ample parking. Comfortable beds and a well-equipped kitchen were often mentioned, although some guests found the beds uncomfortable, which slightly lowers the comfort score.
The property is commended for its well-equipped kitchen, secure garden, and additional features like Sky TV and a jacuzzi bath. However, some guests noted issues with maintenance, such as worn cooking trays, scratched saucepans, and long grass in the garden, suggesting room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.
Many guests were delighted by the thoughtful touches, such as the afternoon tea provided upon arrival. While these gestures were greatly appreciated and added to the positive experience, it is important to note that such offerings may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.

Catered extremely well for our our furry family. Great secure rear garden for them to enjoy themselves. The bungalow itself was very clean and tidy with great facilities particularly in the kitchen. Overall, it made for a great week away. Thank you too the owner for the delicious welcome, Afternoon tea!! A lovely surprise. You would be hard pushed too find anywhere better too stay.

Property was tired in some aspects. Holes in walls caused by the blinds, no blind on front door so no privacy and electric fire surround detaching from wall. The worst part however was the cleanliness, food waste on hob from previous visitors , wrong kind of hairs on bathroom floor obviously not even hoovered ,dust covered cobwebs main bedroom and unpleasant aromas in living room. The worst however was a artificial flower arrangement infested with black mould in bedroom. Criticized heavily by Sykes/owner for cleaning it up ourselves. Our future booking was cancelled based on this visit at substantial cost to ourselves as Sykes refused to refund. Holiday was not enjoyed at all.
Nicky
Spotlessly clean. Extremely comfortable. The only fault was that the hot water boiler couldnât supply enough water to try out the fabulous spa bath. Apart from that very minor disappointment it was perfect. We will definitely be back and my brother is already planning to book. Thank you it was brilliant.
