Rose Cottage is a beautiful stone-built barn conversion with a spacious open plan living area. The wood burner is a lovely addition to the space. There are three bedrooms sleeping up to six people and a family bathroom. Two of the bedrooms have kingsize beds and the third is a twin bedroom; the master bedroom has an en-suite shower room and a four-poster bed. There is a galleried area, with a double sofa bed, which also makes an ideal play area. Outside is a hot tub, picnic table and chairs.

All of the cottages have hot tubs and a badger cam, trained on a local badger set, which is very popular with visitors. There are also two cameras observing a half acre pond and a bird feeder where greater spotted woodpeckers visit daily. Over some 20 years the owners have built a number of relationships with local businesses providing everything from catering, pamper days, local tours, things you’ll need like hairdressers and beauty therapists of a wedding or even try your hand at knife and axe throwing.

An amazing cottage. Owner is really friendly and let us borrow a long extention chord when asked. Really beautiful lcoation not too far from edinburgh with plenty of cozy cafés and pubs nearby. If youre visiting, I recommend bringing/renting a car but there is also a train station nearby.The hottub was nice, but I booked my weekend over a stormy December. I'm sure the hottub is much nicer at other times of the year.We ended up being upgraded free of charge from the Rose Cottage to the Farmhouse so if you can afford it and have a larger group I heavily recommend the Farmhouse.
