A very well presented property with everything you need at hand. It’s tranquil and off the beaten track. Great place to relax and unwind, we will return when we can to explore the Brecon Beacons.

We’ve just returned from a 7‑night stay in early March and overall, we genuinely enjoyed our time here. I would recommend the property, though there are a few points worth mentioning for future guests and the owners. The barn conversion is in a beautiful, very remote location—peaceful, surrounded by farmland, and wonderfully quiet. Do be mindful of weather conditions when travelling, as access is via narrow, hilly, winding country roads. On arrival, the property felt warm, inviting, and clean, with everything prepared as expected. As we knew we were some distance from a supermarket, we brought food for the week. However, I did notice a supermarket delivery to the owners’ property during our stay, so arranging one locally may be possible if preferred. There is an under‑counter fridge in the main property and an additional one in the separate utility building, which provides good overall space for chilled items. The freezer is also located in the utility, so grabbing frozen items or ice does mean stepping outside each time—not a major issue, but slightly inconvenient in heavy rain. A small icebox or countertop freezer inside would be a helpful addition.Heating is provided via underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs. There are quite a few control dials around the property, and apart from two that were labelled, we couldn’t work out which controlled what when the temperature became too warm. Clearer instructions or labelling would be beneficial. The underfloor heating also tends to warm the lower kitchen cupboards, so be mindful of where you store food. The kitchen is adequately equipped with plenty of crockery, a good dishwasher (with some tablets provided) oven, and microwave. We enjoy cooking when we’re away, so often bring extra utensils/ equipment, but you could easily manage with what’s provided. The lounge is comfortable, with seating for six and a large smart TV. Internet access is available throughout. 4g/ 5g Phone signal can be a little temperamental depending on where you stand. At the time we stayed we found that the lounge patio door and the downstairs bedroom patio door wouldn’t open—possibly due to weather/ warped frames—so access to the hot tub was only via the front door. Both lounge doors were also noticeably draughty, especially during the high winds we experienced. I’ve made the owner aware of these issues. The beds were comfortable with good-quality bedding, and towels were provided for both the bathroom and hot tub. A washing machine and dryer are available in the utility, which is useful for longer stays, and a few washing pods were provided. Despite these few personal niggles (I admit I am a fussy guest), we genuinely enjoyed our stay and hope to return at some point. In the meantime we will be recommending it to friends who love the countryside, as there’s lots of walks and areas to explore
