In a quiet village overlooking old Colwyn. There is one pub The White Lion, don't be put off by sticky tables and worn carpet in the older section food I'd delicious and plentiful, the hosts are characters! The property itself has a happy history and is equipped and decorated to a high standard. There is a huge element of vintage in the property. The selling point of this cottage are the hosts Jane and Jonathan, who live next door. The welcome to the property is warm, friendly and full of information. There are no books of information everything is relayed by Jane personally. The cottage is very comfortable, cosy and warm. A car is essential. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners. Take the time to sit and talk to Jane she is a walking history lesson of the village and it's community. Use the lovely bakery in old Colwyn, lovely cakes, bread and savouries.

It was great to have an outside sitting/eating area on the deck as well but alas it was too windy during our stay to do this. The bedrooms and bathroom were cosy cottage style with interesting shapes and many nice touches in the décor which made the cottage very homey and easy to relax in. We soon got used to the curved stairs and the grab handles helped. The hosts were so welcoming and couldn't do enough to help. Their local tips on where to eat and what to see were much appreciated - so much to do in the area. We enjoyed two great dinners at the friendly White Lion Inn next door and a lovely meal at the No 25 bar and restaurant in Rhos on Sea. The history of the Old Post Office and the church are fascinating too. We would definitely like to come again.
