This traditional Grade II listed cottage can be discovered on the outskirts of the bustling market town of Abergevanny, Monmouthshire; providing a convenient base to explore the beautiful scenery of the Brecon Beacons and The Black Mountains, Pentre Court Cottage brags of incredible views, all of which you can admire from the comfort of the property itself. With open-plan dining/living areas and a stylish kitchen, it welcomes friends, family and two well-behaved pets to enjoy a fun-filled break and provides everything you may need for a self-catered stay. Upstairs you’ll find three double bedrooms, as well as a second-floor twin with storage space to make yourself feel at home, along with two sleek shower rooms; the large windows create a light and airy ambience and project the beautiful views of the distant mountains, perfect to admire during a lazy morning. The front garden is a peaceful haven to enjoy the sunshine or alfresco dining- or if you don’t fancy cooking, head into the main town of Abergavenny to select from a plethora of restaurants or pubs. The picturesque sights of The Sugar Vineyards lie less than one mile away from the property and offers a range of tours and experiences you are unlikely to forget any time soon. If you wish to venture further afield, the city of Newport is a short car journey away and brags of various museums, galleries, and cathedrals for the whole family to enjoy; pack a picnic for a scenic walk to Tretower Court and Castle! Travelling towards Pontypool, enjoy tours of Blaenavon World Heritage Centre, discover Big Pit National Coal Museum, exhibiting underground displays of mining life, or head to Garn Lakes Nature Reserve to feel at one with nature, offering lakeside views and woodland walks. The River Usk flows through the lovely market town of Abergavenny, the Gateway to Wales, which is nestled between the seven mountains that surround it. As a result, there are stunning views in all directions. The town has a castle with a museum, churches, a market hall indoors, high-quality stores, and a wide variety of taverns and restaurants to satisfy every preference. Explore the beautiful Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains, take lovely treks in the Wye Valley and Vale of Usk, or along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. Great location, super kitchen facilities, and a really cosy and comfortable house in general. The owner was really lovely and kind when we got lost in the dark, and helped us find our way. Can't recommend this place enough!

The owner (Manon), who lives next door, has tried to think of everything guests could need. The cottage is approximately half a mile out of Abergavenny (we walked it but my elderly parents found the very narrow and badly maintained pavement a bit unnerving); it’s on a bit of a bad bend, directly opposite a pub, so it’s easy to find providing you go slowly (it’s a 60mph road). It’s well appointed with nice fixtures and fittings and is very spacious. Lovely big kitchen with every utensil you could need. There’s a secure garden for dogs. On arrival we found a nice welcome hamper, but what made it special was that a Happy Birthday balloon had been included - so often it’s the little things that mean the most. Lovely touch!! Comfy beds, comfy sofas, decent quality walk-in showers (there’s no baths). Nice warm cottage. Honestly cannot fault Pentre Court in any single way. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to come back again. Thank you Manon for making it such a lovely experience.
