Guests say

Caswell Cottage in Solva is widely praised for its cosy atmosphere, excellent location near the coast path, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests appreciate the secure garden, private parking, and thoughtful touches such as a welcome basket, though these are not guaranteed. The cottage is described as comfortable and ideal for families and dog owners. While most reviews highlight cleanliness and comfort, a small number mention issues with cleaning and maintenance. Overall, the property offers a charming base for exploring Pembrokeshire, with easy access to local shops, pubs, and scenic walks.

Most guests found the cottage spotlessly clean and well-presented, with pristine bed linen and a tidy environment. However, a few reviews reported issues such as an unclean sofa, floors, and minor maintenance concerns, which slightly lowered the overall impression.

The location is highly praised, with guests loving the proximity to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, Solva harbour, and village amenities. The peaceful setting and easy access to walks, shops, and pubs are frequently mentioned as highlights.

Guests consistently mention comfortable beds, a cosy atmosphere, and a warm environment, especially with the log burner. Some minor feedback on living room lighting and sofa covers was noted, but overall comfort is rated highly.

The cottage is well-equipped, with a good kitchen, games room, and enclosed garden. Some guests noted minor issues such as the games room not being fully prepared, a lack of storage in the kitchen, and occasional maintenance needs, but most found the facilities more than adequate.

Several guests appreciated thoughtful touches like a welcome basket and well-equipped kitchen, though it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed. The provision for dogs and families was also valued.

We stayed at Caswell Cottage at the end of March for a weeks holiday with our 3 dogs and for part of the holiday, our children and 2 young grandchildren. We particularly liked the village location. It was stunning with views over the estuary. The location was also quiet with only a 10 minute walk to town and a small grocery shop. There is plenty of choice for eating out and all the venues were all dog friendly. The cottage had great facilities: good parking and really great enclosed garden for the dogs and the grandchildren to play safely; outdoor furniture and the games room were also a nice touch. Inside, the cottage was spacious, thoughtfully laid out with all that was needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was very well equipped for self catering and the welcome pack was very nice! The bedrooms were airy with comfy mattresses and lovely white linen - a great nights sleep was had by all!! the shower was also very impressive :-). Finally the cottage was toasty and warm with a wood burner for extra ambience.. Many thanks for a wonderful stay. We would highly recommend and come back again.

The cottage was a really good size and had all that was needed or lovely stay . The rooms were a very good size . The sofa and chairs were ok but the cover needed a wash . The pub was a bit of a walk and a local shop was near by with the odd things you for get . It's close to st David's and Haverfordwest is close by . You are five minutes from the coastal path.

My husband and I had a lovely week in this cosy cottage. Great location if you don't mind walking up steep slopes or driving into the village centre. Very quiet and 5 mins walk from the coast path. The cottage was spotlessly clean on arrival and the welcome basket was very much appreciated. Very comfy bed and pillows and the bathroom was great, super shower with lots of hot water!! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars for furnishings was the lighting in the living room. The two lamps weren't very powerful and reading/ sewing was a challenge .We loved all the cushions and pictures which were clearly from the shops in the village. The log burner was a nice luxury though we had mixed success!!! We didn't make use of the table tennis room but it looked a good space. I did sit in the garden on a couple of occasions which was nice. The kitchen was very well equipped. I especially loved the radio!! It was a lovely find and we very much hope to return!quick ps, I would love to have seen a visitor book!! Thank you to the owners, the cleaners and Cottages.com
