Caswell Cottage is a cosy, well-equipped holiday home in a beautiful and peaceful location near the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and Solva village. Guests frequently praise its comfortable beds, secure garden, and excellent kitchen facilities, making it ideal for families and dog owners. The cottage is noted for its homely touches and proximity to local amenities. While most guests found the property clean and welcoming, a small number reported issues with cleanliness and maintenance. Overall, the cottage offers a charming base for exploring the area, with thoughtful extras appreciated by many visitors.
Most guests found the cottage spotlessly clean and well-presented, with particular praise for pristine bed linen and a tidy kitchen. However, a minority of reviews mentioned issues such as an unclean sofa, floors, and fridge, as well as a lack of cleaning equipment. These negative experiences were outweighed by the majority of positive comments.
The location is highly praised, with guests loving the proximity to the coast path, Solva harbour, and village amenities. The peaceful setting and easy access to walks, shops, and pubs are frequently highlighted as standout features.
Guests consistently mention comfortable beds, a cosy atmosphere, and a warm environment, with the log burner and quality linen adding to the comfort. A few minor comments were made about sofa covers and lighting, but overall comfort is rated very highly.
The cottage is well-equipped, with a modern kitchen, games room, secure garden, and private parking. Some guests noted minor maintenance issues, such as the freezer needing defrosting, a lack of storage in the kitchen, and occasional problems with the games room and outdoor furniture, but these did not detract significantly from the overall experience.
Many guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as a welcome basket and well-stocked kitchen. Please note that gifts like welcome baskets are not guaranteed for every stay. The presence of books, games, and local décor also contributed to a welcoming atmosphere.

The location of the cottage is great and we do love Solva, it’s just a short walk to the harbour. However we were disappointed when we first arrived, as soon as walked in we could smell wet dog and there were plug in air fresheners in a few rooms that left an overpowering fragrance. So strong they gave me headaches and I had to turn them off. As it was hot we had all the windows open throughout our time there to air the cottage. A few other things were that although it was clean, there was just a general grubbiness to things like skirting boards and lampshades. It could definitely do with a deep clean. There was also black mould around the bath and it was not up to the standard in the photos. We messaged the caretaker as when we arrived the outside bins were full so there was no where to put our rubbish and the toilet flush was temperamental. They replied to say they’d get a plumber to look at the flush on the day we left and to leave the rubbish outside piled up. They’d let the housekeeper know. We ended up putting the wheelie bin out when the neighbours did and the bin got emptied then.
