Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Travel cot. Lawned garden with garden furniture. 2 small dogs welcome. Private parking. No smoking.. This detached cottage retains its original charm with beamed ceilings and stone walls and has a feature inglenook fireplace with an original range in one of the two cosy living rooms. The other sitting room has an electric fire in the stone fireplace, and flatscreen TV with DVD player. The fitted galley kitchen includes a washing machine and small freezer; an archway leads through to the dining room. On the ground floor is a beautiful shower room, perfect for holiday pampering or a hot shower after a day in the surf. Upstairs are two good-sized bedrooms - a twin room and one with a double and a single bed. The cottage is set in lawned gardens with patio furniture, and views across the fields to the sea from St David’s to Strumble Head. Porthgain is a small, picturesque harbour with a lovely bistro/bar, as well as a character pub serving excellent bar food and two art galleries showing the work of local artists. Neighbouring Abereiddy, has a black sandy beach where dogs are welcome all year round and the remarkable Blue Lagoon. An excellent location for the wonderful attractions of the Pembrokeshire coast. Porthgain harbour also hosts a couple of delightful restaurants to really soak in the area, most definitely worth a visit, just a 15 minute walk away! !

Very pleasant cottage, well equipped for a relaxing stay, great location, for coastal hikes and a base for days out with the dog. It was useful to have the information packs in the porch area outlining possible trips. It was nice that a few basics were provided for our arrival - milk, Welsh cakes, but other visitors should be prepared to bring their own groceries although there are a few local supermarkets attached to garages in the local vicinity. As well as some nice pubs with great food. St David’s & Fishguard are the closest towns.We were at the cottage in early September and so the weather was mild and on the whole dry, but the cottage’s location on the coast could mean that it is exposed to the elements, but it has plenty of heating and double glazed throughout.Bedding and towels are kindly provided. The taps on the kitchen sink need attention as they were very hard to turn off, and some instructions on the recycling would have been useful (red bag for plastic, etc. blue for cardboard, paper), had to look this up on the local council website, also did not know when the bins were being collected ( not on the website). The garden is not enclosed, and so you would need to supervise the dog and any young children - not gates to the roadway.Overall a great, relaxing week away and would consider recommending this cottage to friends and family and even stay again.
