About this property

Betws-y-Coed 4 miles.

A traditional stone-built detached farmhouse, set on a 90-acre working hill farm with spectacular views just 4 miles from Betws-y-Coed. Full of character, with exposed beams, slate hearth fireplace and multi-fuel stove in the lounge, Penrhyddion Ucha provides quality accommodation. A separate games room and enclosed garden make the property perfect for families. Enjoy delightful Betws-y-Coed with riverside walks, a golf course, excellent pubs, shops and restaurants. A perfect base for exploring Conwy and Caernarfon castles, the Welsh Mountain Zoo, Bodnant Gardens and Llandudno. Note: This cottage is next door to Ref. 4481, together they accommodate 10.

Betws-Y-Coed was founded around a monastery late in the 6th Century. It grew very slowly with the development of the local lead-mining industry and today has earned the nickname of ‘the Gateway to Snowdonia' and is one of North Wales' most popular holiday destinations. As part of the Snowdonia National Park it is surrounded by miles of unspoilt countryside and ancient mountains and is home to an abundance of wildlife and some rare species of plants. This is a Mecca for walkers, horse-riders and climbers looking to pit themselves against the trials offered by Mount Snowdon. There are a variety of attractions in and around Betwsy-Y-Coed, such as Fairy Glen, a secluded gorge and beauty spot on the River Conwy. The Swallow Falls are also extremely popular and offer a dramatic highlight to any visit. There is a good selection of pubs in the village, with a number of restaurants and shops.
