The photos don't do it justice! Accommodation is all on the top floor (reached from a sloping path at the side of the house) which gives great views. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony (not overlooked) and soaking up the mountain views straight to Cadair Idris. The cottage is well equipped and furnished, with enough homely touches that it's not soulless like some places can be. Communication with the owner about the key safe was easy by text. The walk down to the town is fairly steep, and partly without pavement, but it's quiet and doesn't take long. Dolgellau itself is small, with a few shops, cafes and pubs, and there's a very handy Spar (with parking) on the main road just below the property which had everything we needed. There are loads of fantastic hikes, beautiful beaches and days out in the area like the Precipice Walk, Harlech Castle, Portmerion, and Powis Castle. Definitely recommend.
