Well equipped kitchen but some furniture at the end of its life.
The wooden outside furniture is in poor condition and should have been renovated before the season start. The biggest complaint is poor central heating and hot water temperature. The upstairs was 16 degrees in the morning with no means to control the central heating â I suspect this was done remotely by owner. This despite several guest noting this in the guest book. The hot water temperature was also too low â just about hot enough for a shower but not for a bath and to clean greasy dishes etc. I donât expect to be cold when on holiday, itâs unacceptable to not provide central heating or means to control it. The listing for the cottage states it has heated towel rails, again these had been turned off with no means of turning them on. Damp towels and a cold bathroom â not what you want from a holiday let.

Fantastic week in the barn as part of our honeymoon! Court Barn is definitely worth a visit and we would definitely stay again. We stayed for a week in June as a family of 3 and the barn was incredible. So much space for our son to explore and so so comfortable. We really appreciated the space as we had a few very rainy days but this proved to be no hardship as we cosied up in the barn watching films while our soon pottered around with his toys. Unfortunately due to the weather we didn't get to play in the pool! Location is fab. Pub in Polstead about a 25 mins walk away and supermarket at Hadleigh a 10 mins drive. Can not recommend this place enough.

Arrived at dusk on Christmas Eve & the twinkling outside lights welcomed us in - inside was just as lovely, with welcome extras, including a tree all lit and bubbly in the fridge - a beautiful house to spend a family Christmas in.
The eye for detail is superb, everything we needed & more. We loved the different garden areas, the little outhouses & the flow of the house. The children enjoyed their "den" bedroom which had toys & games to play with and really enjoyed doing the quiz, taking in all the elements of the garden. The adults enjoyed relaxing in the comfy chairs, with snuggly throws and cooking/ eating in the well equipped kitchen & dining room. We've rented many holiday homes over the last 50 years or so, but this was our first Christmas away - we couldn't have chosen a better place to spend it in. So glad we found it - just perfect for all 3 generations!

I’ve booked this cottage several times now and absolutely love it. It’s full of character and old fashioned charm. It’s not the most comfortable place; steep stairs, adjoining bedrooms, one loo, no proper standup shower. However, the kitchen is better equipped than more expensive places I have stayed. Above all, the location is perfect for exploring the local hearths, woods and the river Alde. Snape Maltings is close by and there are 3 pubs to choose from in the village, all doing food. Perhaps not suitable for those with mobility issues or the very young but otherwise, a wonderful spot for a staycation

The cottage is very well equipped and very comfortable and the location is great for discovering Suffolk. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, including my 93 year old mother and the wonderful weather made the holiday complete. Would definitely recommend the cottage. As I was booking the cottage from Germany, I was very pleased with the Original Cottages Portal and their attention to detail (emails) running up to the holiday. It made booking the property from outside the UK no problem.
