The Beehive is a fairly large property with TV's in every room apart from the bathroom. The TV in the large lounge is massive and is equipped with Netflix. The Beehive is situated in a quiet village, even though the property is near the road it is quiet and we had an undisturbed sleep. There is a large kitchen with a washing machine and dryer and a table in the middle of the kitchen usefully for families. Where it is situated you can drive to nearby towns and villages, we enjoyed many cream teas. We had a good time there and would go back.

Well, what to say, in all honesty, quite a lot. We have always done self catering, and been well looked after, but this was a disappointing experience. On arrival, had to do emergency shop, there was a real lack of "comforts", in the bathroom, there was not even a full toilet roll (less than half a roll), in the kitchen there was no dish cloth or kitchen roll. Had to wash (scrub) mugs and dishes that had been left stained and soiled possibly by previous guests. But the worst thing was to clean the smeared fridge freezer and unit doors, and vacuum dead and rotting flies from the kitchen window sill, surely a duster or damp cloth could have been used. I have photographs of said flies. All in all, not the best experience.

We stayed at The Beehive for 4 nights in August. The accomodation was exceptionaly clean, well positioned and well maintaned. The lounge room has a large sofa bed and a huge television. There is one other bedroom and a shower room / toilet upstairs. The downstairs kitchen / diner is well equiped, but you will not need to cook there, because the Red Lion pub is directly opposite and serves fantastic food. The Landlord and Landlady (who also own the accomodation, campsite and local cafe / shop) were both very welcoming and serve great food, which is very good value for money. The cafe / shop is directly under The Beehive lounge room and serves good breakfasts and lunches. All in all, a great experience and perfectly situated for the Aviation museum which is less than 10 minutes walk away.
