The former Chaucer House Hotel was converted into 14 luxury apartments and is located in the heart of Keswick with all amenities on the doorstep. It is in a very quiet part of the town but still only five minutes’ walk to Market Square and ten minutes’ to the lake shore. It is a perfect base to enjoy a holiday in the Northern Lakes. With many walks surrounding this pretty town, your car may never leave its parking space.
Chaucer’s Nook is situated on the lower ground floor of Chaucer House and is luxuriously furnished with an eye for detail. It is extremely well-equipped throughout with an emphasis on quality.

This is a very comfortable apartment for a couple or single. plenty of storage space, good bathroom and comfortable bedroom, nicely decorated throughout. Plenty of kitchen equipment and all the crockery you could want. Smart TV and a CD/DVD player - however this seems impossible to use as it is not connected to the TV, maybe as a result of an upgrade to the latter. Already booked for next year.

We have stayed at Chaucers Nook for several years to attend the Keswick Convention. While the flat is well appointed and we'll equipped we have noticed some deterioration over the years. This year the flooring in the hallway had suffered some warping and the shower tray sealant had failed, possibly due to the tray sinking slightly. Also we noticed some small patches of black mould on the tiles in the bathroom. Also the buttons on the microwave have worn so you can't see the markings making it difficult to use.Having said that, the apartment is comfy and well equipped. Having a dishwasher is great. Allocated parking is also a must for us which us available for Chaucers Nook. It is usually really clean when we arrive and has a welcoming feal. Other features include an excellent washer/dryer and a smart TV. It's a great base for a couple when visiting the lake district and we have re-booked for next year.

We had an excellent week. We appreciated the parking and the walk in shower cubicle. The bed was comfortable and it was a quiet location but within easy reach of the town centre.My only negative comment is that the sofa was very low - not easy to get out of!
