A charming, semi-detached cottage next to the owner’s Grade II listed farm in the village of Nether Wasdale in the Lake District National Park. It's the perfect stay for a relaxing Lake District getaway for families, friends and couples alike. The living areas are filled with character, boasting rustic features such as exposed beams, latch doors and wooden features to give that real country-cottage feel. Sit on the snug leather sofas with the fire ablaze and make the most of the Sky TV when you're not out exploring the Lakes. The kitchen area is well-equipped and the dining room features quirky wooden benches to enjoy your meals from.
One of the three bedrooms here at Stable End Cottage sits on the ground floor with an immaculate finish to make you feel right at home. Head upstairs to discover the two further bedrooms, sat cosily under the eaves and uplifted by the light-filled Velux windows. The interior is finished off with a bright and airy family bathroom, a soothing place to lie and relax in a bubble bath after a long, tiring day. You can enjoy your morning coffee whilst embracing your wonderful location, take a seat on the front patio area before the fun-packed day begins. The property comes within a short walk of the deepest lake in Britain, Wast Water is a breath-taking area of the Lake District where you can also try your hand at some outdoor pursuits.
Nether Wasdale benefits from two traditional village pubs, ideal to go and unwind at the end of the day. A comforting cottage in a splendid countryside location. Note: This cottage can be booked with Ref. 973071, together they sleep 10 people.
Nether Wasdale is a small village situated to the north west of Wastwater, the deepest lake in Great Britain. The village is well-served with three pubs, one with its own brewery, a farm shop and café selling local produce and ice cream. This area is the birthplace of climbing and is also a superb base for hiking and all outdoor pursuits. Unlike many lakes, motorized boats are forbidden though canoeing and kayaking are perfect for these unspoilt and tranquil waters which add to the peace and serenity of this stunning part of the Lake District National Park.

The cottage was beautiful, clean and very well equipped, the location could not be more perfect, stunning area great for hiking scafell pike and the surrounding area but more importantly an easy 20 minute walk to a lovely pub. Comfortable beds, spacious bath and shower with excellent water pressure, a drying room for wet boots and gear (love this - nothing worse than soggy walking boots) and plenty of animals to keep you company (sooty and sweep make a great welcome committee) The hosts are very welcoming, friendly and have excellent knowledge of the area. Woodlands tea room is also a must for a great cooked breakfast. We shall definitely be returning!

The cottage is in a brilliant position for walking straight from the front door. Bluebell woods opposite to be enjoyed. The hosts (and the dogs and cats) welcoming, helpful and responsive. Our fifth visit - and will soon book for next year.

The cottage was perfect. Beautifully cared for and spotlessly clean. It was comfortable, peaceful and perfectly located. Within a short 15min walk to the Sawmill cafe, or lhr +, if you walk through the stunning fields, woods and along the waterside. The owners were brilliant. They're friendly and helpful. We plan to return later this year. Scafell Pike is a short 17min drive. Gosforth is 15 mins drive. All in all, a perfect stay for us. The added charm of being on a working farm was very special.
