About this property

Saltkettle is a big self-catering holiday cottage in North Norfolk. The five-bedroom detached house has a flexible layout to accommodate two to 12 people comfortably. It is in the lovely Norfolk village of Blakeney, a short walk from the quay, two pubs and the village shop. It's part of an AONB and on the edge of a river and a nature reserve home to the biggest grey seal colony in England and thousands of migrating birds. You'll feel wonderfully welcome when you stay here, whether you're escaping for a couple's getaway, meeting friends for a holiday filled with excellent walks and bike rides, or treating the kids to bucket-and-spade fun.

Saltkettle is a big holiday home in North Norfolk that comfortably provides self-catering accommodation for 10-12 guests in five bedrooms. It's in a wonderful location in Blakeney, a mere five-minute stroll from Blakeney Quay, the Kings Arms and the White Horse pubs, and close to the River Glaven and the coast. The house and the area are ideal for all ages, whether catching up with a group of friends over good food and scenic walks or bike rides along the coast or taking the grandparents, kids and dogs for a traditional holiday to enjoy beautiful beaches like Sheringham and Cromer. Couples and smaller families can also enjoy the welcoming accommodation of Saltkettle. The ground floor can be rented for two people, as the accommodation is all on one level, with discounts offered for parties of eight people or fewer.

Blakeney is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty famous for its spectacular National Nature Reserve, a colony of seals and the annual influx of migratory birds. It's wild and unspoiled, with many locals and visitors believing it to be the British coast at its best. Despite being on one of the most popular stretches of English coastline, Blakeney has retained a lovely traditional atmosphere enhanced by flint cottages built over a century ago to house fishermen and their families, and the impressive medieval Blakeney Guildhall and St Nicholas Church. A favourite route to walk or cycle is to Cley-next-the-Sea, which is just over a mile away. Another memorable trip is by boat to Blakeney Point with a licensed wildlife tour guide to see the seals and the pups born in November.

Local attractions include Cromer beach and pier, and award winning beaches of Wells and Holkham. Holt has a great choice of boutiques and cafes, and you're under an hour from Norwich, where there are even more places to eat and shop, as well as a thriving nightlife. Walsingham Abbey, Felbrigg Hall, and the 900-year-old Binham Priory are also close by. There is a wide array of indoor and outdoor activities and attractions. You will feel relaxed but never bored when you stay at Saltkettle.

Downstairs:

  • The entrance hallway has hooks for coats and space to leave shoes.
