The Long Barn was just beautiful and spotless on our arrival. The welcome pack of biscuits, tea and coffee were a nice touch. It was spacious, and cosy at the same time. A perfect base for our stay. It was so private and quiet and peaceful. The kitchen was well equipped. Loads of storage, crockery and cutlery. In the bathrooms, Plenty of toilet rolls, hand soaps and towels provided. A washing machine, pegs and an outside line was brilliant. TV worked fine, radio was great as was Wi-Fi not that we needed it. Lovely seating in both front and back garden and a pets at home shop down the road for bird seed! Though be prepared, £4 of mealworms were gone in 30 minutes! Was wonderful to watch all the birds. I actually pottered about one morning before everyone got up in the early sunshine and dead headed the geraniums and watered them and refilled the birdbath then sat with a brew on the comfy chairs and enjoyed the tranquility! Berwick upon Tweed is not far in the car and you pass an M&S food and an Asda on the way! We ate at the Popping Chicken cafe which is near - great service and very dog friendly. The Sunday lunch was delicious. Fish and chips in the Hook Cafe in Seahouses were top notch and again dogs were welcomed in. Already planning a return stay and have recommended it to friends. Cocklawburnbeach is wonderful and clean. Car parking is on the road and was really busy when we went BUT the beach did not feel crowded and we had a wonderful time with the dogs there. It’s our favourite parT of the UK to visit and Long Barn was one of the best places we stayed. 5 adults, a 4 month old baby and 2 springer spaniels give it 10/10 !
