Dating back to 1782, Blue House is a stone-built, double-fronted property which simply oozes charm and character. With so much thought, care and attention to the finer details the standard of accommodation is sublime. With many original features still intact it offers a wonderful blend of old and new. The spacious living room focuses upon a cosy wood burner set in a large inglenook fireplace; a restful place to rest and watch the flames dance after a day exploring the spectacular Northumbrian countryside that surrounds Blue House. The separate dining room provides a second reception room and the contemporary kitchen at the rear is very well-equipped. There is a convenient shower room also on the ground floor. With four immaculately presented bedrooms and a family bathroom on the first floor, Blue House is an excellent choice for the gathering of families and friends, or for those couples seeking a ‘chocolate box’ romantic hideaway. We enjoyed our stay at The Blue House Cottage. The cottage had everything we needed including a welcome tray with biscuits, tea bags, coffee, milk to name a few of the items.Would highly recommend.

We had a great week at Blue House. It's a wonderful home from home. We particularly liked the lounge and it's excellent TV. The beds were very comfortable. We were helped to access the summer room, hint: the doors to it aren't locked, they simply slide open! The garden was excellent for our dog to run around in, it's very useful to be able to close the gate to effectively halve the garden. We did this so we could always keep him in sight. There was a strong smell of heating oil in the kitchen, not sure if this was normal or it needs looking at? We loved it and are already considering booking it again next year. Thank you.
