Guests say

Crawshaw Cottage receives high praise for its modern, comfortable, and well-equipped accommodation, with guests highlighting its cleanliness, secure garden for dogs, and excellent location for exploring Buxton and the Peak District. The property is appreciated for thoughtful touches and a welcoming atmosphere. While a few minor cleaning and maintenance issues were noted, these did not detract from an otherwise enjoyable stay. The cottage is particularly well-suited for walkers, families, and dog owners, with easy access to local amenities and scenic trails.

Most guests found the cottage spotlessly clean and well maintained, though one review mentioned some missed cleaning in the kitchen and bathrooms. Overall, cleanliness is a strong point with only minor lapses.

The location is frequently praised for its convenience to Buxton, the Peak District, and local amenities, with good access to walking routes and public transport. The setting on a new estate is noted, but proximity to attractions is a highlight.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as comfortable, with cosy beds, quality furnishings, and a warm atmosphere. The secure garden is especially appreciated by dog owners.

The property is well equipped, with a modern kitchen, throws for seating, bike storage, and a secure garden. Minor maintenance issues were mentioned, such as non-functioning bathroom mirrors and some sticky door strips, but these were not significant enough to impact overall satisfaction.

Several guests mention thoughtful touches such as throws for dogs and welcome gifts like biscuits and Prosecco. Please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Top quality house in a good location. A farm shop within walking distance and a café/bookshop nearby. All the trails reasonably close and so is Buxton. Would go again.

Nice house, warm and comfortable. Plenty of kitchen utensils, plates etc.Nice walks around the housing estate accessed from the lane up to the quarry. Had a nice day out at Matlock Bath, very Victorian, lots of bikers around. Buxton is a lovely town, so is Ashbourne.Nice comfy furniture in the lounge and plenty of blankets and throws provided.Few little niggles, there was a few pans that had been used and were greasy so hadn't been washed, glasses with grime and fingerprints and lip marks on, the oven wasn't very clean inside with a puddle of grease on the bottom, it has obviously rained very heavily and the garden was like a bog which meant muddy footprints everywhere every time the dog needed to go out, I understand the owner can't control the weather but it made me realise how much I had missed my AstroTurf at home! The bathroom mirrors didn't light up or demist as the batteries had all expired and needed replacing, all the door strips on the floor downstairs needed a good clean as they were all sticky with dirt.Saying that it didn't ruin our stay, just a heads up for the owners really. We appreciated the biscuits and Prosecco, (which we left in the fridge as we don't drink it).Apart from the weather, we had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend this holiday house.
