Guests say

Number 28 in Port Isaac is a well-received cottage, praised for its excellent location, cleanliness, and comfort. Guests appreciate the well-appointed decor, ample parking, and the thoughtful touches like welcome gifts and a detailed information board. The property boasts a sun-trap garden and is within walking distance to local attractions. While some minor maintenance issues and personal preferences on mattress comfort were noted, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many guests eager to return.

The property is consistently described as clean and well-maintained, with only a single mention of lilies dropping stamen, which is more of an isolated incident than a cleanliness issue.

The location is highly praised for being perfect for visiting North Cornwall, with everything in walking distance and ample parking, a rare find in Port Isaac.

The majority of guests found the property very comfortable, with special mentions of the beds and the cosy atmosphere. However, a few guests noted issues with mattress comfort and high tog duvets being too warm for the season.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially the kitchenware and entertainment options. Some guests noted areas for improvement such as the quality of pans and the presence of plastic wine glasses.

Guests frequently mentioned the thoughtful touches like welcome gifts and the information board. While these are appreciated, it is politely noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and not guaranteed with every stay.

Property smelt & felt damp. There was a leak across the kitchen dining area. The floors were covered in sand and grit; the crockery and cutlery needed washing pre-use. The oven needs properly cleaning along with the very grubby dining chairs. The bathroom floor tiles need regrouting and the shower screen falls apart if opened. There was no bath mat or toilet roll. No welcome pack. The leak and poor cleanliness reported to agents J. Bray. at the time. They arranged a re-clean which did improve things on a surface level. However all of our clothes/ dog bedding smelt of damp on leaving and all needed washing. We have reported this to Sykes (twice) but haven't received any response. No apology from anyone.

The house is beautifully designed and equipped with everything you need. We had a great time in Port Isaac and can only recommend to stay in Number 28!

The cottage had everything needed for our stay with lots of additional touches such as the information boards, plenty of DVDs, books and games. The garden was a sun trap and lovely to sit in on an evening. the only downside was an uncomfortable mattress, both myself and my husband woke every morning with aching backs. Although I do recognise that having a soft mattress is a personal choice. Overall the cottage is beautiful and I would recommend it if you are looking for a relaxing break in beautiful surroundings.
