Sitting in a sheltered valley just minutes from the golden beach, this contemporary, eco-friendly, semi-detached holiday home has been thoughtfully designed to provide comfortable and green holiday accommodation. It has also been awarded a Visit Britain 4* grading and a gold award. The property has a place to store wetsuits and there are metal loops in the wall to secure bikes. The coastal village of Porthtowan has a rugged feel with cliff-top walks, a golden dune-backed beach and walks along the coastal path. There is a fantastic bar situated directly on the sand, which has live music and great food. Two surf shops provide water-based entertainment with tuition and hire, a great way to spend a day before the evening sets in for that al fresco dinner on the terrace of Porhellik. Locally, you will find Tehidy Country Park, a large wooded estate perfect for walks and cycling, with bike hire close by. Golf, horse riding, surfing and kayaking are all available nearby. A little further west, a short drive along a beautiful coastal road will bring you to St Ives, home to galleries, beaches, shops and restaurants. Beach ½ mile. Shop and pub serving food ½ mile.

We loved our stay at Porhellix, with us visiting there for the second year running. It is very clean and comfortably furnished.The owner is very helpful too, if you need to get in touch. The beach is a short walk down a hill and the local bar and shops are well worth visiting too.

Just had a fab week staying at Porhellik with my wife and three children. A really spacious, welcoming property in a gorgeous setting with everything you could need - it's really nicely furnished yet still homely and alongside a large living room-dining area, has all the main appliances and culinary devices in an ample kitchen. Upstairs, all 3 double bedrooms are roomy and the ensuite in the main bedroom very handy.Directions were easy to follow, with Porthtowan just off the A30. The turning off leading up to Towan Valley was exactly how described in the helpful documents shared with us prior to the holiday and communication with the owner, Dawn, was great throughout. Our numbered parking spot was easily found.Porthtowan isn't a massive town like Looe or Newquay but has pretty much everything you need just a 5-10mins walk away from the house (the hill isn't too bad - you have to earn your ice cream after all!) with a lovely, lifeguarded beach, the coastal path, a couple of places to get a drink, an ice cream shop, a village store and an awesome fish 'n' chip shop! It's a lovely little place which doesn't get overrun by tourists like some of the bigger towns along the West coast. If you do need more supplies, Truro and Redruth are a short drive away as is the A30, the main road linking most of the attractions in West Cornwall. Most of the main supermarkets also do deliveries to the postcode too, as do Deliveroo and UberEats.We would absolutely recommend Porhellik and will look to return in the future.

Our third stay at this lovely property. It is well looked after and an ideal location, as a short walking distance to porthtowan beach and close driving distance to other places such as St Agnes, Perranporth, Truro, Portreath. We had two cars, a visitors space was always free for the second car we had which was a bonus. Very spacious property for the 4 of us. Ideal to have the double option in all 3 bedrooms. We'll be back next year. Highly recommend.
