Turnpike Cottage is a spacious, beautifully presented cottage with a wonderful, large kitchen/dining area, three bedrooms, two reception rooms, and three bath/shower rooms. Across the road from the cottage is a games room with a full size table tennis table, off street parking and a small private garden with seating area. The cottage is set in the delightful location of Gerrans Square, opposite the widely acclaimed Standard Inn and Gerrans Church.
From Turnpike Cottage it is only a short, 5-minute walk down the hill to the pretty little harbour of Portscatho, which has a sandy beach and rock pools at low tide. Many artists have taken inspiration from this stunning location and there are a number of delightful little galleries showcasing the work of various Cornish artists. The well stocked village shop and post office is open daily and sells everything a holiday maker may need. Portscatho is well served with a variety of eateries offering food and drinks throughout the day including the local public house which serves local ales and good pub grub all year round. Porthcurnick beach is dog friendly throughout the year and is just to the east of the village. It has beautiful golden sands and is over looked by the famous Hidden Hut.

Our family and dog have stayed in Turnpike Cottage once before this occasion and know the area very well. The cottage is in a very central location, close to all the amenities in Gerrans and Portscatho. We were really impressed with the facilities offered and also the furnishings. It has a general feeling of cosiness and, therefore, we had no hesitation in booking it again. On the last occasion, it was in August, but we have just returned from an October half term stay, On the night we arrived, it was very cold and windy but, as soon as we entered the cottage, we could feel the warmth of the place. As well as the excellent facilities (including three fridges, a freezer and three bathrooms), a lot of thought has been put into comfort of the the guests staying there. There are numerous DVD's, books and games for the children. Yet again, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would like to think that we will be in a position to book this beautiful cottage again in the future.

A very spacious, well equipped holiday let. Located on the outskirts of Portscatho village did make the 'last furlong' back from the beach walks a bit arduous, bit does help get the extra steps in.Lovely facility to use a a base for venturing out and exploring the Roseland peninsula and it's stunning coastal.We plan to return.
