Formerly a quarrying area, Fortuneswell boasts a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, along with an intriguing maze of streets that wind their way up a steep hill to offer stunning views of the Jurassic Coast and the rolling hills of Dorset beyond. The surrounding countryside is well known as a birdwatcher’s paradise, plus with great walking and climbing opportunities, an array of watersport activities, wonderful sandy beaches, and Weymouth just 5 miles away, this super holiday destination is not to be missed!

Well equipped, and a great layout. First floor lounge/kitchen has the awesome view down Chesil Beach. The shingle beach is only minutes from the front door and the coastal path is at the end of the road. Local scenery is epic. Portland has some great museums and avoids the tackiness of Weymouth! Minor niggles. Only one front door key. No recycling (as it all counts as trade waste). The road is narrow. You will use the pavement to get passed parked cars.

.it is stunning with the large window giving you a full view down the awesome Chesil beach and of course perfect sea views. The property is very comfortable and warm and provides for everyoneâs needs, very handy having two bathrooms. The house was something to look forward to returning to on a full day out. Parking is okay, nice to have a parking space with the property, the road to the house is small and turning is difficult, but as long as you are aware of this, it will not detract from your stay. Definitely a return to property for us, we loved it.
