Guests say

Pirates View is a well-regarded cottage in Brixham, praised for its spaciousness, home comforts, and stunning views. Guests appreciate the modern amenities and the property's style. While some noted issues with cleanliness and maintenance, these were addressed promptly. The challenging access due to steep steps and limited parking is noted, yet the location is celebrated for its proximity to local attractions.

Cleanliness received mixed feedback. Some guests reported a damp smell and presence of dog hair, suggesting a need for more thorough cleaning. However, quick responses to cleanliness issues indicate a willingness to improve.

The location is highly praised for its views and proximity to Brixham town. However, access may be difficult due to steep steps and narrow streets, which could be a consideration for those with mobility issues.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with a 'home from home' feel and comfortable beds. One room was noted as small, but overall the property is considered very comfortable.

Facilities are generally well-received, with modern amenities and a well-equipped house. Some maintenance issues were raised, such as drainage and the need for a door mat and squeegee, but these appear to be isolated.

While guests mentioned a welcome bottle of wine and milk, there are not enough references to consistently assess the level of thoughtfulness across all reviews. It should be noted that such gestures are appreciated but not guaranteed.

Great house in an amazing location

Pirate’s View has fantastic views over Brixham town and the harbour. It’s elevated, so is accessible by many steep steps or a steep slope; I therefore wouldn’t recommend to the less mobile - we loved the exercise though. Parking is an issue, as it’s limited and the streets are very narrow, but besides that everything else was excellent. The house is modern and styled nicely with all mod cons and the owners are very friendly and accommodating. Brixham is a friendly fishing town with nice dog welcoming restaurants and pubs. The coastal walks are beautiful, very hilly if you want to venture down to the coves, but well worth it. Salcombe and Dartmouth are worth visiting. Use the ferry to cross the estuary as the journey round is long and slow. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pirate’s View and would recommend it to most people wanting to visit Brixham.

We really enjoyed our stay at Pirates Retreat and will definitely be returning. We were really comfortable there and it felt like home from home.
