Hereford 5.3 miles.Tucked away in the peaceful village of Cross Keys on the outskirts of Hereford, Little Lugg is a beautifully finished lodge for two, offering a quiet and romantic retreat surrounded by rolling Herefordshire countryside. The moment you arrive, the standout feature awaits: a private, fully screened hot tub — perfect for sinking into warm bubbles under the stars after a day exploring the area.

Step inside to a cosy open‑plan living space warmed by underfloor heating and a welcoming woodburning stove, creating the perfect setting for slow mornings and relaxed evenings together. The well‑equipped kitchen sits seamlessly within this sociable layout, making dining‑in easy and enjoyable, whether you’re cooking a simple supper or sharing a long lazy breakfast.

When night falls, retreat to the spacious king‑size bedroom with its own en‑suite shower room. For added comfort and convenience, Little Lugg also offers a second shower room and a separate cloakroom - thoughtful touches that elevate the overall sense of space and ease.

Outside, the private patio features outdoor furniture ideal for alfresco drinks, while a shared seating area and barbecue provide additional spots to unwind. Wildlife is often seen in the wider area, adding to the lodge’s peaceful rural charm.

Within a short stroll, you’ll reach the Cross Keys Inn - perfect for a relaxed drink without needing to drive. Slightly further afield, Hereford offers a rich blend of heritage, independent shops and riverside walks. Highlights include Hereford Cathedral, home to the world‑famous Mappa Mundi and extraordinary Chained Library, as well as attractions such as the Black and White House Museum and nearby Berrington Hall.

Spend time exploring the city’s markets, wandering beside the River Wye, or sampling local Herefordshire cider for an authentic taste of the region. With its tranquil setting, cosy interiors and exceptional private hot tub, Little Lugg provides the perfect base for couples looking to slow down, explore, and enjoy time together.

This property can also be booked with Refs. 976974, 985930, 985932 and 1066966 to sleep up to 12 guests.

With its mediaeval bridge over the winding River Wye, the cathedral city of Hereford is the very image of picturesque England. Eclectic Hereford is a popular starting point for exploring the region because of its wide range of architectural styles and its proximity to the Black and White villages of the area, as well as Shropshire, Worcestershire, and The Cotswolds. Hereford is well-known for its cider, but it is also home to the Mappa Mundi, the largest and most elaborate pre-15th century map. It can be found in the cathedral alongside the Chained Library, which houses over 1500 rare books dating all the way back to the 8th century. Also close by are the mediaeval buildings of Leominster, which are often perched precariously above the street; and Symonds Yat, a rocky outcrop on a 5-mile bend in the River Wye with breath-taking views and protected peregrine falcon nests.

Hot tub was lovely after long days out. Felt nice and private. Only really needed to contact owners once (minor issue with oven door) Jarrod responded very quickly (within 15 mins) & sorted problem immediately. Chatting with him, he was friendly and offered a couple of suggestions regarding possible days out (Ludlow & cider shop). Overall Little Lugg was a great short break property which we would highly recommend.

Can’t fault it in anyway whatsoever, everything was excellent, there is a guest book with so much helpful information for your day. Owners have gone above and beyond to ensure you have all you need for your stay. Only thing we weren’t a fan of was the pub down the road (Cross Keys Inn), simply wouldn’t bother there is plenty of pubs in the town (10-15 minute drive) and there is a pub a bit closer called the swan which was amazing. Beautiful location, lovely and quiet but close enough to shops etc. Can’t recommend enough we were really impressed with all aspects. Thank you to Jarrod & Steph for your wonderful holiday home! X
