Set within the owners’ working sheep and cattle farm in an elevated position to take in the stunning rural views, Larchwood Lodge has private parking below the property from which there is a short uphill walk to the front door (approx. 12 steps up to the front door).
Larchwood Lodge has been renovated to a high standard in 2023 and offers comfort and luxury throughout this ground floor accommodation. Walk directly into the spacious, open plan living space which is just fabulous, there’s a wood burner for those colder evenings and underfloor heating throughout the property. The 22-foot bi-folding doors lead out onto a beautiful decked area with spectacular views of the rolling hills and valley, a great space for relaxing with a glass of your favourite tipple as you watch the sun go down and listen to the local wildlife, don’t forget there is also the private hot tub on the decked area which is undercover and has a Smart TV on the wall!
Nearby there are walks aplenty for the more active, and many open gardens to explore including Hergest Croft Gardens in nearby Kington. There is also the small breed animal park situated just outside Kington, which younger visitors will be able to enjoy all year round. Kington also provides guests with pubs and restaurants to enjoy, as well as a number of takeaway restaurants if you are looking to enjoy a night in. The property is just 13 miles from the popular town of Hay-on-Wye which is famous for its many book shops and annual Hay Festival, which attracts many visitors each year, including many celebrity faces. Pub and restaurant 1¾ miles.

From the moment we turned off the main road and followed the track towards Larchwood Lodge WOW!! It definitely exceeded expectations in terms of stunning location, scenery and pure luxury. The lodge is superb, very spacious and well thought out. The undercover hot tub and seating area with TV is an added bonus and was used daily. Plenty of lovely walks in the area and local shops etc. The owners are lovely and very welcoming and informative. On the whole this was the best and most relaxing holiday we have had and would 100% return.

Lovely lodge with superb views. Nice walks around the woods behind the lodge but difficult to walk to a pub. Nice secure decking area for dogs but be prepared for the sheep. You’re on a working farm so lovely to see the sheep grazing. Would definitely recommend for a quiet leisurely stay and will return.
