Guests say

Wilderness Lodge in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, is highly praised for its picturesque setting, cosy warmth, and tranquil environment. Guests are delighted by the friendly locals, the proximity to activities and the pub, and the lodge's charming decor. The hot tub under the stars and the wood burner add to the relaxing experience, making it a recommended retreat for peace and comfort.

Guests consistently commend the lodge for its cleanliness, noting the well-maintained and spotless condition upon arrival. The attention to detail in this regard contributes significantly to the overall positive experience.

The lodge's location is celebrated for its beautiful and peaceful surroundings, with easy access to local walks and a friendly pub. The steep and rough walk to the pub is mentioned, but the scenic value and community spirit are highlighted more.

Comfort is a strong point for the lodge, with guests finding the accommodations warm, welcoming, and cosy. The beds are comfortable, and the lodge is equipped for a relaxing stay, despite a few comments about the shower size and lighting.

The lodge's facilities, including the kitchen and entertainment options, are well-received. However, some guests suggest improvements such as a larger shower and an electric hot tub for convenience. The wood-fired hot tub is appreciated but noted for its effort to heat.

The owners' thoughtfulness is evident through the provision of a cake and other welcoming touches, which guests find delightful. While these gestures are appreciated, it is politely noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

The lodge is out of this world!!! The decor is simply amazing and compliments the wooden lodge so much. Sofas and beds comfortable, great bathroom facilities and the kitchen has so much you can comfortably cook great meals for your self. The outside is just as perfect. So relaxing hearing the stream flowing, birds tweeting. We didn't hear a single car during our stay. The wood fired hot tub was good but took a lot of work to get going. Took 4 hours and a lot of wood to get to a temperature where we could comfortably get in but was worth it in the end. Also loved the fresh homemade carrot cake and flowers left for our arrival. Lovely touch! All in all, fantastic stay and would book again.
