The cottage offers a relaxing rural retreat with beautiful surroundings, making it a popular choice for group getaways and family breaks.

Several guests found the cottage clean and tidy, but a notable number mentioned issues such as dust, cobwebs, and the need for a deeper clean in some areas. Cleanliness was generally acceptable for most, though a few reviews highlighted areas for improvement.

The rural setting and beautiful countryside views are frequently praised, with guests enjoying the peacefulness and proximity to local walks and towns. Some found the property difficult to locate, especially at night, but overall the location is a major highlight.

This cottage was lovely and absolutely perfect for my two small dogs. The garden is fully enclosed and felt very safe. For those with very small dogs, it is worth noting that the entrance gate has a small gap. However, I have a tiny Maltese and she never managed to get out. The garden itself is huge and provides plenty of space for dogs of all sizes to run around and play. The cottage was clean when we arrived. There were the occasional spider webs, but that is completely to be expected in such a rural location and certainly not a reflection on the cleaner. The heating and hot water were excellent throughout our stay. We did need some assistance with the system initially, and the owners came out promptly to help. They were incredibly accommodating, friendly, and genuinely lovely people. I had several questions both before and during our stay, and they were always happy to help. The rooms were spacious, the beds were very comfortable, and overall the cottage felt welcoming and relaxing. One area that could be improved is the televisions. The TV in the lounge is quite small, and when the weather keeps you indoors, it would be nice to have a larger screen for entertainment. The same applies to the TV in the bedroom. The kitchen was generally well equipped, with a great oven, microwave, kettle, and toaster. My only real criticism is that there were no non-stick frying pans available, only stainless steel ones. As many people are unfamiliar with cooking with stainless steel pans, some of the cookware required quite a bit of cleaning, which we ended up doing ourselves. Providing at least one or two non-stick pans would be a useful addition. The kitchen was also missing a few basic items, such as a fish slice, and the crockery was a mix of different plates, cups, and bowls rather than a matching dinner set. An additional frying pan would also be beneficial, as the single small one provided was not really sufficient. These are, however, very minor points in the grand scheme of things. The conservatory would also benefit from some updated furniture as the sofas were falling in and getting up out of them was challenging. The dining chairs in the conservatory and hallway were not especially comfortable, so replacing them would make the space more enjoyable.Overall, these were all relatively small issues. We had a fantastic stay and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The spacious accommodation, secure garden, and helpful owners made it a wonderful place to stay.

The place was so bad we opened a complaint about it. Informed owner who was on holiday, but hopefully, now, addressing the dirty, dilapidated state of the place. Cottage.com should check this place out otherwise they will get a bad name for not looking after their clients

Stayed here for 2 nights with our family to celebrate husbands 'special' birthday. Accommodation is very basic and in need of tlc but for the price you couldn't grumble. Paperwork needs updating as there is no pub in Chatcull, which would of been nice to walk to. Mrs Wain is very friendly and helpful. All in all we had a lovely time.
