Lothersdale 2 miles. Skipton 5 miles. Award-winning Street Head Farm is something a bit special! Taking its name from a little-known Roman route across open farmland, it is situated in a wonderful elevated position and offers incredible open views across glorious Dales countryside. The property is stone-built and has been completely renovated to offer superb holiday accommodation, which is furnished to a high standard. Care has been taken to retain its original charm and features include stone flagged floors and original beams. The owners live on a nearby working farm and personally welcome visitors.
Nestled in a peaceful valley of the Pennine Hills is the charming village of Lothersdale, just five miles from the market town of Skipton. At one time, this lovely little town was home to the famous writer, Charlotte Bronte, who went on to base Gateshead Hall from her novel ‘Jane Eyre' on Stone Gappe House where she was governess. Many of the visitors today come to the village for its excellent walking routes as it is situated along the Pennine Way - on the stretch from Cowling to Gargrave. The village pub is well worth visiting and serves food whilst the nearby town of Skipton provides an excellent range of amenities. Just a short drive away is the town of Haworth, the Bronte's home and the famous Worth Valley Steam Railway.

The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the whole place was perfect for a relaxing stay. The owners were fantasticâfriendly, helpful and incredibly thoughtful. We were unfortunately caught in traffic when the motorway was closed, meaning we arrived around two hours later than planned. James very kindly took care of our grocery delivery in our absence, even putting everything away for us. This was such a thoughtful gesture and very much appreciated after a long journey. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. Highly recommended!

Gorgeous converted barn, well insulated and heated. Ample parking. Large kitchen and dining area for sharing meals together. Clean bathroom facilities. Spacious bedrooms with space for travel cots. Comfy lounge area and a separate snug just off the kitchen so ideal for the kids to play in whilst cooking. Lots of toys and board games. Stunning views. Short drive to Thornton Hall Farm Park and Billy Bobâs Diner/Play Barn. Thank you very much for a brilliant stay and the lovely welcome package.

Facilities excellent however certain aspects could be improved, including larger bath towels, shower storage and details of what is provided as part of the booking, eg hand soap, what towels are supplied etc. The owner James absolutely lovely, helpful and responsive to requests for assistance. The welcome flowers, cake, marmalade and tea bags were very much appreciated. The property would benefit from a deep clean as we found dust, cobwebs and shower grouting that needed attention. That being said we would happily return and recommend the property for a family/group holiday due to its peaceful location, spaciousness and welcome from James.
