Guests say

Abbey View in Whitby is a well-received cottage with many guests praising its spaciousness, well-equipped kitchen, and beautiful views. The hot tub is a popular feature, though some guests noted it requires more frequent servicing. The property's proximity to Whitby centre is appreciated, although the uphill return can be challenging for those with mobility issues. While some minor maintenance issues were reported, the overall experience is positive, with many guests looking forward to returning.

Cleanliness is generally good, with several reviews highlighting the property's tidiness upon arrival. However, there are instances of cleanliness concerns, such as dirty bedding and a need for better servicing of the hot tub, which slightly lower the score.

The location is highly praised for being close to Whitby centre, offering easy access to local attractions. The scenic view of the Abbey from the bedroom is a notable highlight. The steep hill on the return journey is mentioned, but does not significantly detract from the location's appeal.

Comfort is consistently commended, with guests finding the property spacious and the beds comfortable. The presence of TVs in every room and a large kitchen diner adds to the comfort. Some minor suggestions for improvement, such as blackout blinds, are noted.

Facilities are generally well-received, with ample crockery and a covered hot tub. However, maintenance issues such as battery replacements, light bulb changes, and servicing of the hot tub have been pointed out, indicating room for improvement in this area.

While some guests appreciated the provision of tea, coffee, and biscuits, there is insufficient information to determine the consistency of these gestures across all stays. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that such gifts will always be provided.

We would come back again . We recommend getting clothes airier as fantastic have washing machine but no where to air clothes . Also the light stay on continuously outside all night which makes it difficult to sleep in front bedroom . No means is this let down as like said this is what we would have preferred cannot fault this facility although feel Horus undersold this was a gem ! And views form proper form upstairs were amazing l! We had best stay

Read a few bad reviews about parking, noise and smells from the dog breeder next door. Had no trouble getting a large SUV estate onto the drive and am sure a second would have fitted too. As for the dogs other than the very occasional bark we didn't know they were there, certainly much quieter than a lot of dog owners we know! The hot tub was great and being covered we used it in the pouring rain and wind. The floating chlorine dispenser meant the water was perfect all week rather being overdosed to try and make it last a week as often happens. The only very minor faults were that there was a teapot but not a cafetiere for coffee and no replacement bin bags. Sure we will return.

.the only thing I would suggest is some blinds maybe on the patio doors and side windows.
