Guests have had a delightful experience at Aislaby Hall, praising its stunning views, spaciousness, and well-equipped kitchen. The property's location is appreciated for its proximity to local attractions and the added bonus of a nearby pub. The games room is a hit among families, although some noted it could be cold in winter. The welcome pack was a thoughtful touch, and the large garden is a highlight, despite some comments on maintenance.
There are no specific comments regarding the cleanliness of the property, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.
The location is highly regarded for its beautiful views and proximity to Whitby and other local attractions. The village setting and nearby pub add to the charm, making it an ideal base for exploring the area.
The property is described as comfortable and roomy, with large bedrooms and comfortable beds. However, some guests mentioned issues with low seating and the lack of heating in the conservatory/games room, which suggests room for improvement in comfort during colder months.
Facilities like the well-equipped kitchen and games room are appreciated, but there are several mentions of minor maintenance issues such as the need for more powerful showers, larger towels, and additional heating. The garden is loved, though some guests noted it needed upkeep.
The welcome pack provided by the hosts is mentioned positively, indicating thoughtfulness. However, as gifts are not guaranteed and not all reviews mention them, the score reflects the possibility that such amenities may not always be provided.

Aislaby itself was a good base for exploring the area, close to the park and ride into Whitby, plus the bonus of a great pub (The Forge) on the doorstep. The accommodation was very spacious and ideal for large groups. The kitchen was well equipped with the welcome milk, bread, eggs and biscuits a lovely touch. On the ground floor there is also a lovely dining room , a sitting room, a WC, a room set up as a childrens playroom plus a conservatory with pool table, darts board etc. There are stunning views over the valley so it is such a shame that 2 laurels completely blocked the view from the sitting room. The staircase is stunning with numerous eyes from the many portraits on the landing watching your every move, The 3 large bedrooms (2 en suite) and two twin rooms plus a family bathroom with separate WC offer plenty of space upstairs. Since booking the accommodation our parents mobility had declined so a couple of things were an issue so should be considered if planning a trip here. Firstly all the showers are over the bath which unfortunately was an issue for especially my Mum. Maybe if there are future upgrades at least one walk in shower would be beneficial. Secondly, and less of an issue, was some of the seating in the sitting room were very low to the ground which the parents would never be able to get up from. We got around this by moving a nice 2 seater settee from the unused childrens room into the sitting room. The conservatory games room provided alot of fun during the week. Yes the pool table has seen better days and there is a bit of a slope on it but we had a great time putting it to good use. Parking is on the drive in drive out driveway so be prepared for lots of car moving each morning if members of your party are leaving at different times. There are 2 areas of gravel that you were supposed to be able to park on but very large planters had been positioned on each preventing their use. Finally the rear gardens of the property are shared with an attached apartment. We only met the 2 elderly occupants shortly after arrival. Rather than a polite introduction we got a "we hope you are not going to be rowdy"! Obviously not familiar with Northern hospitality!

Lovely house with beautiful grounds. Facilities really good the only thing was the showers arenât very powerful. Great location for exploring Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Stathies, Sandsend and Saltburn-on-Sea. The house has great facilities for eating in or the local pub The Forge serves lovely food. We enjoyed the Sunday lunch and evening menu one evening.

Only minor tweaks would make it even better. The towels were old and very small, no dressing tables in any of the bedrooms for hair and make-up. The garden was brilliant and extremely large but grass needed cutting. Given that we would definitely stay again.
