This was once a modest cottage dating back to the 1920s which has been completely transformed into the most incredible coastal retreat. Each room is presented to an exceptionally high standard, welcoming guests to an outstanding stay by the sea. Situated on Cliff Street, you are only steps away from the many bustling cafés, bars and independent shops which all aim to delight the visitors who come to this beautiful town. You are also within easy reach of all the attractions Whitby boasts, including the long golden beach stretching to Sandsend. The patio at the front of the property has glass fencing to maximise the breathtaking panoramic views and this sun trap is perfect for sitting out and watching the world go by with a glass or two of something special. These are easily some of the best views in Whitby – and they are all yours!
Stepping inside through double glass doors, you are welcomed into the modern and well-equipped kitchen, complete with a breakfast bar. From every room (except the shower rooms and toilet) you have harbour or sea views. The adjoining open plan living/dining room is spacious and tastefully furnished, with enough seating for this to be an enjoyable social space for you all together. The ground floor is complete with a toilet for added convenience. Upstairs on the first floor are two kingsize bedrooms, each with wood panelling and bespoke built-in hanging rails and shelves. The family bathroom on this floor is exquisite with a bath as well as a separate shower. On the second floor are a further two kingsize bedrooms, almost a mirror reflection of the bedrooms below, but with more elevated views. There is also a well-presented shower room on this floor.
Whitby is seafaring town and proud of its heritage; there are tales of Viking invasions, heroic sea rescues as well as seafaring pioneers. Discover more at the museums, including one on a tall ship in the harbour. Today fishermen still sail from Whitby, there are many award-winning restaurants where you can sample the freshly caught seafood. There are also festivals throughout the seasons making this a perfect all year-round resort to visit.
The surrounding North York Moors National Park is full of moorland and woodland trails as well as the wonderful heritage steam railway, the steam train leaves Whitby and travels over the moors towards the market town of Pickering, with other picturesque villages along the way. There is an array of seaside towns and villages along the coast to visit, with breathtaking beaches and coves. For younger family members, and within an hour’s drive, you have Flamingoland theme park and zoo, the Sea Life Centre, Alpamare Water Park and Go Ape tree top ziplining in Dalby Forest. Lovely house - lovely Whitby but I will get it off my chest - Cottage.com didn’t ring back, having said they would. Help with parking would have helped. Yes you rang back once but asked a further question - no go.Reading comments in owners book there were 3 or 4 issues ie if no hair dryer, say so.

Lovely accommodation. Great views and very clean. I would like to see a welcome pack with some parking passes as we had to spend quite a bit of time finding them. Also check in could be a little earlier and check out a little later.
