Dale House is a spacious and well-equipped cottage set in a stunning, tranquil location with beautiful views and abundant wildlife. Guests appreciate the easy access to local walks, nearby villages, and the peaceful countryside setting. The property is ideal for families and groups, offering ample space and a well-stocked kitchen. While the majority of guests enjoyed their stay, some noted areas for improvement, such as maintenance issues, intermittent WiFi, and occasional cleanliness concerns. Overall, the property offers a memorable rural retreat with plenty of charm.
Most guests found the property clean and tidy, with positive remarks about the accommodation's cleanliness. However, a few reviews mentioned issues such as mould in the shower, dirty kitchen utensils, and leftover items from previous guests, which slightly lowered the score.
The location is consistently praised for its breathtaking views, peaceful setting, and proximity to local attractions and walks. Guests loved the wildlife and the sense of tranquillity, making this a standout feature of the property.
Guests generally found the cottage spacious and comfortable, with plenty of hot water and cosy living areas. Some mentioned firm beds and cold bedrooms due to underfloor heating issues, but overall comfort levels were high.
The cottage is well-equipped for groups, with a good kitchen and ample space. However, several guests noted maintenance issues such as leaking roofs, faulty heating, broken light bulbs, and unreliable WiFi. Some kitchen items needed replacing, and clearer instructions for appliances and recycling would be beneficial.
There are no specific mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

To begin this would have been a 5* review but for some poor equipment and a lack of information. Firstly there were a number of kitchen items that were disgusting. 3 spatulas that should clearly have been in the bin! A rusty, no longer non stick pan and a grubby greasy griddle pan with a loose handle. I left them on the kitchen table along with an item that was supposed to be for cleaning the shower. The problem that I have most with this item is that I read a review from over 6 months ago that references this ‘thing’. It is a disgrace that it is still there and begs the question who actually cares about this property? Also the internet isn’t really fit for purpose, the connection was intermittent at best, I know the property is a tad remote but I expected better. On the upside it is a lovely valley and we walked from the door on 3 occasions. There are roe deer in the vicinity and we saw a barn owl hunting. The living room is a delightful space to relax in and the wood burner is very efficient. The beds were big enough but not really very comfortable as we were a party of 3 over 6 foot blokes. They were zip link beds that if you have to lie across because of your height are not that great. This place should be so much better but for some extra care and attention! Some information about the bins and recycling would have been useful and a local number to call if something is awry, the central number provided has limited access on a Sunday.
