Ewden is a charming and well-equipped cottage in the heart of Robin Hoods Bay, praised for its spacious kitchen, cosy atmosphere, and convenient location. Guests appreciate the Aga, sea views, and the garden, making it a favourite for family stays. While some maintenance issues are noted, the property's character and position often outweigh these concerns.
The cottage has received mixed feedback on cleanliness. Some guests have reported issues with dust, cobwebs, and a slug problem, suggesting a need for more thorough cleaning. However, others have found it clean and tidy, leading to an above-average score.
The location is consistently praised for being central, convenient, and close to the beach and local amenities. The picturesque setting in Robin Hoods Bay is a highlight for many guests.
Comfort is generally well-regarded, with guests finding the beds comfy and the property cosy, especially with the Aga and open fire. However, some guests noted issues with room temperature control and the suitability of bed sizes for taller individuals.
Facilities are appreciated, particularly the well-equipped kitchen and the inclusion of a washer dryer. However, maintenance issues such as damp, a non-functioning hoover, and bathroom seal problems have been highlighted, indicating room for improvement.
There are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the owners. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

Fantastic cottage in a great position. It was better than what we imagined beforehand. The open fire was lovely. We are a family of 5, made up of 3 young children under 7 and it suited us. Many thanks, we will endeavour to return in the future.

The cottage is a credit to its owners, one of the nicest we’ve stayed in over the 20 years or so we’ve been coming to Bay. It’s central to lower Bay and in an ideal position to access the shops, pubs, and beach. The cottage is very well equipped, particularly the kitchen, with lots of pots, pans and utensils. Having a filter/bean coffee machine was an added bonus too. The star of the kitchen has to be the Aga though, pure heaven and a dream to cook on. It cooks joints of meat to perfection. And the open fire was just what you needed after a walk in the snow. We’ve had the best time, thankyou. We can’t wait to come again.
