Rascal’s Rest is in a peaceful residential area tucked away from the bustling centre of town. Stepping inside you have a spacious living room with three sofas around the wood burning stove, with a selection of games to enjoy together for cosy nights in front of the fire. There is a separate kitchen which is well equipped and ideal for creating meals to share, which you can enjoy at the dining table together, also on the ground floor there is a single bedroom with an en-suite shower. Up on the first floor there are a further two bedrooms, a master king bedroom as well as a twin bedroom. There is also a family bathroom, with a bath and a cubicle shower. Each room has been beautifully furnished to ensure you have a comfortable and memorable stay. Outside you have a small enclosed courtyard, which is ideal for dog owners, giving you a little outside space where they can dry off after a walk on the beach or stretch their legs in a morning.
From Rascal’s Rest you are only a 10-minute walk away from the cliff tops with the golden beach below. Whitby is home to a myriad of activities, on a summer’s day take a stroll along the sea front, or for the braver guests, immerse yourself in the Dracula Experience a spooky guided walk filled with special effects, continue the literary theme, and visit Bram Stoker’s bench, the spot that inspired him to write Dracula. Explore local history and heritage by visiting the plethora of museums available such as: Whitby Museum, Captain Cook Museum or the rnli museum or for those that like a challenge climb the famous 199 Steps leading up to the historic St Mary’s Church, here you will also be able to find and explore the ruins of Whitby Abbey all while admiring the phenomenal scenic views.

Cottage was pleasant and very clean, living room is lovely. The GF bedroom is in a converted outbuilding I suspect and has road noise but its otherwise Ok and comfortable. Reasonably well equipped. We stayed one night and it was fine for that albeit expensive IMHO (but one nighters always are to be fair)

Really great cottage, very well appointed kitchen and amenities. Great location for easily getting into Whitby without being too close. Ground floor bedroom and en-suite was perfect for our needs. Easy to get inside following the instructions and communication leading up to the booking was excellent. Would definitely recommend and use again.
