Guests say

Sunnyvale House in Whitby is a spacious property with ample room and en-suite bathrooms, appreciated for its proximity to local attractions. While parking is a noted concern, the house's cleanliness and comfort are generally praised. Some maintenance issues are mentioned, but the property's suitability for large groups and its well-equipped spaces are highlighted.

The property is initially described as clean and presentable, with a beautifully cleaned house and quality bedding. However, some reviews mention dampness and a need for decoration, slightly affecting the overall impression of cleanliness.

The location is highly regarded due to its close proximity to Whitby's harbour and local amenities, making it accessible and convenient for guests. The only drawback is the parking situation, which is a recurring theme in the reviews.

Guests find the property comfortable, with plenty of room for large groups and a bonus of having en-suite bathrooms. The house is well-received for its comfortable rooms and social spaces, although one review mentioned a missing mirror in a bedroom.

The facilities are generally good, with ample space and a well-equipped kitchen. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as dampness, missing plugs, and the absence of a promised outside heater, which suggests room for improvement.

There are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the owner, so it is not possible to assess this category accurately. Therefore, the score is set to null.

House beautifully cleaned and smelt lovely, quality bedding and accessories. We didn’t book hot tub as timings too restrictive but understand the need to consider neighbours and noise levels. Outside courtyard could do with a little TLC, other than that fabulous accommodation and stay, we would rebook

Great location,, walking distance to most places in Whitby, comfortable and well equipped. Only things I would mention are the hot tub - we were only advised that this would cost an additional £150 well after we booked. Also, there are no parking permits provided so this wasn’t easy when there were at least 5 cars between us so we had to find and pay for parking all weekend.

Upon further inspection not so good: 1. Damp and wet wall left of the window in bedroom facing the rear. 2. Damp on wall and ceiling in the dining room. 3. No plugs in some bathroom sinks. 4. No kitchen linen ie tea towels/kitchen hand towels. 5. No outside heater as informed by owner. 6. The building looks very tired and in need of full decoration. 7. NO HOLIDAY ACCOMMODATION PARKING PERMIT SCRATCHCARDS. Also Sykes are totally unhelpful in regard to Whitby location issues. 3 representatives attempted a resolve before we arrived.
