Lovely barn conversion property in beautiful location surrounded by the Moors stunning scenery. The property was well appointed and had everything we needed for our stay. It was clean and tidy throughout but clearly needed some tlc as some of the areas, especially the bathrooms, needed some attention. The decor was a bit tired looking as was the furniture. We were warned, but we’re still surprised at how slow the wifi was and it was frustrating that the tv service kept cutting out.But nonetheless we had a lovely break and found this was a perfect location for exploring the Yorkshire Moors.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Old Barn and had a lovely time there. Roma contacted me prior to arrival with very useful information and excellent directions, so we found the cottage without any problems. She was also there to meet us when we arrived and gave us a wonderfully warm welcome. The Old Barn is a lovely, well equipped cottage with amazing views, friendly wildlife and was perfect for our stay. We were staying there to attend a family wedding at Danby Castle Barn & every family member that came to the cottage to visit commented on how lovely it was and how they'd like to stay there themselves in the future. Highly recommend the Downe Arms pub & their Steak & Ale pie too. Pub is just a couple of minutes drive away in Castleton, has friendly, helpful staff and one of the best pies I've ever had!!
