Guests say

The Signal House in Whitby is praised for its excellent location, just a short walk from the town centre and with the unique bonus of steam trains passing by. Guests appreciate the spacious, well-equipped accommodation, private parking, and family-friendly layout. Many found the property clean and comfortable, with several returning for repeat stays. Some minor maintenance issues and occasional cleaning lapses were noted, but these did not detract from the overall positive experience. The property is especially popular with families and those seeking a convenient base to explore Whitby.

Most guests found the property clean and tidy, though a few mentioned dust, cobwebs, and occasional missed spots such as carpets and patio. Some isolated incidents of previous guests' items being left behind were reported, but these were exceptions rather than the norm.

The location is consistently highlighted as a major strength, with easy walking access to Whitby town centre, scenic walks, and the novelty of steam trains passing nearby. Private parking is a significant bonus in this area.

Guests generally found the house spacious and comfortable, with good beds and plenty of room for families. A few noted worn sofas, an uncomfortable bed on the top floor, and narrow stairs, but overall comfort levels were high.

The property is well-equipped, with a modern kitchen, ample glassware, and thoughtful touches like a larger freezer. Some guests mentioned maintenance issues with showers, doors, and patio, and a few would have preferred a washing machine. Most issues were minor and did not impact the overall stay.

Guests appreciated the well-equipped kitchen, plentiful towels, and occasional welcome packs. Please note that gifts such as welcome packs are not guaranteed for every stay.

We had a lovely week at signal house. The only slight criticism is that a washing machine would be useful.
