Guests say

Wayside Cottage in Whitby is consistently praised for its comfort, cleanliness, and stunning views. Guests appreciate the spacious, well-equipped rooms and the property's suitability for families and pets. The location offers good walks, a nearby pub, and a local supermarket, enhancing the stay. The thoughtful touches by the owner contribute to a homely feel, although a welcome pack is notably absent.

Guests have highlighted the cottage's spotlessness, with one review specifically stating it was the cleanest they've stayed in. This suggests a very high level of cleanliness throughout the property.

The location is appreciated for its amazing views and proximity to good walks, a pub, and a small supermarket. However, one review mentioned it being a bit remote, which might not suit everyone's preferences.

The reviews frequently mention the comfort of the cottage, with its cosy living room, spacious rooms, and secure garden for pets. The presence of multiple en suites adds to the comfort level for guests.

The well-equipped kitchen and the availability of doggie accessories are positively noted. However, the mention of a ground floor bedroom needing new pillows and duvet indicates a slight need for improvement in maintenance.

While the reviews reflect an overall thoughtfulness in the provision of facilities and a homely atmosphere, there is no specific mention of gifts. Therefore, it cannot be confirmed if gifts are a regular feature, and the score is set to null.

Owner very responsive and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

  • Maureen

It was spotless, which in the past has let other cottages down. We got snowed in for two days but as cottage so comfortable it didn't matter too much. Would definitely stay again but maybe at a warmer time of year. Pub nearby which did a lovely Sunday roast and it was warm and welcoming.

There were three generations in our party and each one was catered for. I would love to visit again and really recommend this cottage.
