Guests say

Westonby Lodge is highly praised for its beautiful, secluded setting with stunning views, providing a peaceful and private retreat. Guests appreciate the well-furnished, clean, and comfortable accommodation, often highlighting the welcoming touches such as a hamper. While most experiences are positive, a few guests mention issues with suitability for those with mobility issues and the size of the property for larger groups.

The property consistently receives high commendations for its cleanliness, with numerous guests describing it as spotless, tidy, and well-maintained.

The location is frequently lauded for its picturesque and tranquil setting, offering privacy and proximity to wildlife. However, a few guests note the property's isolation and distance from shops, which may not suit everyone's preferences.

Comfort is a strong point for the property, with guests frequently mentioning cosy beds, high-quality bedding, and a homely atmosphere. The presence of a log fire adds to the comfort, especially during colder weather.

Facilities are generally well-received, with the property being well-equipped for a holiday stay. However, some guests point out the lack of a washing machine within the main building and the suitability for disabled guests, which affects the score.

The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident through mentions of welcome baskets and helpful communication. It's important to note that such personal touches, while appreciated, may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.

Former hunting lodge with character, well equipped, warm, homely and spacious. We were able to watch deer and barn owl in the fields around the house. Hope to be back.

We thank them for that. This property has magnificent views from the bay window in one of the upstairs bedrooms. We saw and photographed both Curlew and Lapwing in the fields along with young blackbirds, rabbits and hares. If you are interested in nature, this is the place to be. You need binoculars to see the nearest habitation so you are completely on your own with the nature. There is an outside lawn area with seating, one of which enjoys the magnificent views. The upstairs shower is over the bath and has no hand-held spray, just a fixed overhead one. The downstairs shower is a hand-held spray which fixes to a slider to use overhead so it can be used both ways. It is in a three foot square cubicle - about the size of an old-fashioned telephone box. There is plenty of room for parking outside in what was a farm yard but is not being used for that purpose anymore. There is a 13amp electricity socket that can be used to charge an electric bike or car by arrangement with the owner. The kitchen is well equipped. There is a dishwasher in the kitchen and a washing machine in an outhouse. There are plenty of sofas and chairs. There is a large dining table with a bench on each long side and a chair at each end. The WiFi is reliable but slow. It is good enough for iPlayer etc which is available on the smart TV.
