Guests say

Wychwood is a well-received cottage, praised for its comfort, cleanliness, and thoughtful touches. Guests enjoyed the cosy atmosphere, well-equipped kitchen, and the location's proximity to local attractions. The secure garden and welcome packs were appreciated, although some minor maintenance issues were noted.

The majority of guests found the cottage clean and tidy, with fresh flowers and a well-presented environment. However, a few guests mentioned areas that needed more attention, such as dusty cupboards and an unpleasant kitchen smell, slightly lowering the score.

The location is highly praised for its quiet setting, proximity to Whitby, and easy access to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. The local pub and amenities added to the convenience, making the location ideal for exploring the surrounding areas.

Guests were very happy with the comfortable beds and cosy living spaces. The cottage's warmth and the provision of extra bedding were noted. Some guests mentioned issues with a damp room and a creaky bed, but overall, the comfort level was high.

Facilities were generally well-received, with a well-stocked kitchen and a secure garden. However, some guests encountered maintenance issues such as a faulty shower, problematic doors, and a suggestion for an additional toilet. These issues suggest room for improvement.

The welcome packs with treats for both guests and pets, as well as the availability of games and a wood burner, were thoughtful touches that guests appreciated. It should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and may vary with each stay.

In the kitchen there is everything that you could possibly need, and the property was clean and very cosy. The welcome basket was a nice surprise! We would definitely like to return. The home made preserves option was also a nice surprise, and very reasonably priced (use the 'honesty' box if you are using the preserves!) Hope to be back next year!

Plenty of walks directly from the door, friendly village, with a very well stocked shop. A very generous welcome package was supplied and the owners were friendly and helpful, with a rapid response to minor issue with one of the ovens and ensuring we were ok after a power cut. This meant them travelling from a nearby village to reset the central heating. Would definitely return if we were to return to the area.

The location was perfect as we could travel there by train and enjoys walks from the door so no need for a car. The cottage was well equipped, cosy and comfortable. The welcome pack was very generous and much appreciated. Thank you.
