The Station House in York receives high praise for its cleanliness, spaciousness, and tasteful decoration. Guests appreciate the convenience of the adjacent train station for easy access to local attractions. The property is described as comfortable and well-equipped, providing a home away from home experience. Local pubs and amenities are within walking distance, adding to the appeal of this well-situated cottage.
Reviewers unanimously commend the property for its exceptional cleanliness, noting it as spotless and very clean.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to the train station and local attractions, though one mention of driving being a nightmare suggests a slight deduction.
Guests find the cottage very comfortable and spacious, with only a lack of mention of beds or seating comfort preventing a perfect score.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, with good cooking facilities and parking. A minor issue with baking trays and a frying pan needing replacement slightly affects the score.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness, so this category cannot be scored.

Celebrated my mums 80th birthday here and what can I say an amazing place, very clean, spacious , and so clean, loved waking up to the horses at the back so nice, being right on the platform didn’t bother me at all, it was nice hearing the trains, best to cab into the city as driving can be a nightmare, but worth seeing the Xmas market and shambles , thank you again for an amazing stay, we will be back

Perfectly situated for access to York and surrounding areas. Recommend the train to York as on the doorstep literally and only a few mins away. House was spacious and clean, with all the amenities required for self catering. There are several family friendly pubs which serve food within walking distance too. We will be back!

Had a lovely week The cottage is great for visiting York, The Railway Museum, The Herriot Museum, Benningborough, Newby Hall etc etc. We didn't get chance to try the local pubs but they looked nice from the outside. Directions were good. Although right at the side of the railway the noise inside the cottage was very minimal. The cottage is very tastefully decorated, the furniture is good and the cooking facilities excellent. We didn't have to purchase anything other than our food. Instructions for the TV and other appliances was very good. Parking is good. There was only 3 of us but there is plenty of room for 6All in all we had a very enjoyable week
