Enjoying a peaceful setting in the village of Ballachulish this spacious, detached house makes the perfect base to explore the stunning beauty of the west coast and Scottish Highlands. River Mill has been equipped and furnished to a good standard to ensure you have a comfortable and relaxing holiday. Located a short distance from the famous village of Glencoe, and just 15 miles from Fort William, the Outdoor Capital of the UK, the area is renowned for its large variety of outdoor pursuits, breathtaking scenery and abundance of wildlife. There are plenty of walks on the doorstep, and the Sustrans cycle track from Glencoe to Oban runs through the village. Climbing, hill walking, mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, fishing and golf are just a few of the many activities available and within easy reach. The ICE factor national ice climbing centre, at Kinlochleven is 8 miles away.
The Jacobite Steam Train in Fort William will take you through some of the most spectacular scenery in Scotland, or take a trip up Aonoch Mor on the gondola. Take the short crossing and head for the Ardnamurchan Point, the most westerly point in Britain, or take the ferry over to the beautiful Isle of Mull. Further afield, you can take a day trip to Oban, Loch Ness and Inverness, the highland capital.
The area is steeped in history with an abundance of wildlife, and the magnificent backdrops which surround this area have been used in many famous films including Harry Potter and Braveheart. A short walk will take you to the Isles of Glencoe and a regular local bus service is available. For the less energetic, you can sit, relax and unwind in this lovely property where happy memories will be made. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

We really enjoyed our stay in this well equipped and spacious house. The pool table was great for our teenage grandsons. The views were lovely and we managed to see a roe deer close up. We found plenty to do in the area.

An excellent house for a larger group with a large sitting room with very comfortable recliners and a sun room, a superb garden and fantastic views. The only downside were the very uncomfortable mattresses in most of the beds.

A comfortable and spacious house made a great base for a large group on holiday to walk, climb, open-water swim and mountain bike. The house was warm, beds were comfortable and the showers / baths were perfect after a long day on the hills. Useful utility room just by the front door for wet and muddy clothing, but it would be helpful to have a couple of airers for drying kit that can't go in the dryer. Weather was mixed and the pool table provided excellent distraction from that, just a pity we didn't have time to try out the BBQ hut!
