Guests say

Caroch Cottage is a homely and well-equipped property, appreciated for its cleanliness and thoughtful touches. Guests enjoyed the comfortable stay and found it to be a good base for exploring the area, despite some concerns about its location near a busy road and the need for modernisation.

The cottage is generally clean with some guests finding it immaculate. However, one review mentioned the need for a deep clean in less accessible areas.

While the cottage is praised as a good base for exploring, its proximity to a busy road and limited parking are noted as drawbacks.

Guests found the cottage cosy and comfortable, with spacious bedrooms and comfy beds, although one suggested it could be warmer in winter months.

The cottage is well-equipped with necessary facilities, but there are suggestions for modernisation, including better heating and shower unit.

Guests were delighted with thoughtful touches like a laid dining table and provisions upon arrival. While such gestures are highly appreciated, they are not guaranteed for every stay.

Although we knew that Caroch Cottage was near a sharp bend on a very busy main through road, we did not realise how congested the road was with heavy vehicles. Also, there is quite a lot of construction work going on around the village so this adds to the congestion. Where we were advised to park our car in the public car park 100m away, which was in use throughout the day by school teachers at the primary school. Around the village parking is limited.I think the cottage is badly situated as the front door opens onto a very narrow main footpath which makes it a tad difficult with the amount of traffic using the road.Caroch cottage itself is in need of modernisation if it's used during the winter months. It would benefit from double glazing, upgraded heating and a better shower unit. Most of the visitors use the cottage as a base to explore the surrounding areas. However, at some point the weather may force people to stay at home during the winter months and the cottage is not the warmest of places. We found Caroch cottage to be generally clean but would benefit from a deep clean as the tops of units were dusty as were some of the higher areas, the room edges and behind the headboard on the bed.But on the plus side we enjoyed the stay, we revisited places from past visits and just enjoyed the walks.
