Seal Cottage is consistently praised for its stunning location, comfort, and high-quality furnishings. Guests are enchanted by the proximity to the sea and the amazing views, with the sound of waves providing a tranquil backdrop. The beds are noted for their comfort, and the property's cleanliness is generally well-regarded. The welcome pack with wine is appreciated, though some guests suggest a more varied welcome pack would be ideal.
Most guests find the cottage exceptionally clean, with comfortable beds and well-maintained rooms. However, one review mentions that the property was not clean upon their arrival, specifically noting a dirty Aga and kitchenware, which slightly lowers the overall cleanliness score.
The location is highly praised for its spectacular sea views and proximity to wildlife, with many guests finding it perfect for relaxation and enjoying nature. The ease of access to local attractions and the peaceful setting contribute to a high score, despite one mention of the beach being less than ideal.
Guests frequently compliment the comfort of the cottage, particularly the beds and the warm, cosy atmosphere. The property is described as a home from home, suggesting a high level of comfort throughout the stay.
The facilities are generally well-received, with mentions of a well-appointed property and high-standard decor. The addition of an Aga cooker is noted, though it also presents a learning curve for some. One review cites issues with rubbish disposal, and another suggests the need for more basic provisions, slightly affecting the score.
The welcome pack, often including wine, is a pleasant surprise to many guests, indicating thoughtfulness. However, some guests suggest that practical items like milk or bread would enhance the welcome experience. It should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Lower Burnmouth is a magical little place. Loved being so close to the sea - the view from the cottage was amazing and it was wonderful waking upto the sound of the sea every morning. Seal cottage itself is beautiful. A real home from home with the most comfortable beds. My favourite room was the gorgeous Jack and Jill bathroom with an amazing cast iron bath. I would definitely recommend a stay in this lovley place. Were already planning our next trip.

Well decorated and comfortable for 2-4 people. Access via the hill is ok and easy parking, though there was one car for a couple of days who meant a close edge drive. The Aga was a new experience for us and it took a while to get used to it! Within easy reach of the A1 and attractions, such as Berwick; Bamburgh; Farne Islands; Alnwick and Jedburgh as well as many beautiful sandy beaches and harbours. Eyemouth has an amazing fresh fish supply and a coop, as well as supermarkets near and in Berwick. We had an amazing week and would love to return!
